Everytime I close my eyes
I see it
The way you occupied my time
I need it
Got addicted to the smile
I feel it
You got to know what's on my mind, read it

I feel so high, high on life
I see heaven in your eyes
High,on life, don't you waste your time

Where ever you go I'll be there
You know you can't hide from me
I was the one you needed, to feel so high on life, so free

I feel so high. high on life
I feel so high, read it in my eyes

Every promise that we made, keep it
All the love I really need, you give it

I feel so high, high on life
High,on life
I feel so high, high on life
I see heaven in your eyes, high on life
Don't you waste your time

I feel so high, high on life
I see heaven in your eyes
High on life
Don't you waste your time
High, high on life
I feel so high
I feel so high on life, so free
I feel so high
High on life

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
