"Fashionably Uninvited" as written by and Jonathan Bates....
All of these folks
On the TV have their reasons
Like you on your hill
Consuming en maze with your buddies

Every time I watch them all go by
I take in a breath and let out a sigh
I don't know how much of this I can handle
Excuse me is my rant taking too long?
Is it getting in the way of this lovely song?
Just promise me that you'll never leave
I'd die if you leave me

When I was young
All of these things didn't matter
But now times have changed
And I wasn't paying attention

So fuck you and your mass media toys
That make being alive seem like a chore
I don't know how much of this I can handle
Excuse me is my rant taking too long?
Is it getting in the way of this lovely song?
Just promise me that you'll never leave
I'd die if you leave me

General CommentI think it's about a guy who has grown up and still loves a girl who's still in a way immature. Even though, he still doesn't care and loves her though she has her imperfections.

General Commentnothing can be worse than the grammar in system of a down's "lonely day."

i definitely agree the song is related to growing more mature... but kind of like, growing too mature and not being completely ready for it...?

General Commentman... i really cant pinpoint the exact meaning of this song but it seems to be more about phases in life and trying to break away from the everyday crowd and haveing someone special always by your side.

anyway the song is just beautiful and it easily won a spot in my top 100

General CommentI reckon it's about trends and trend following wankers. You know the sort... they're completely hollow and pathetic and dress themselves up in the latest rubbish to make them look the part because they haven't got a real personality of their own.

Demonstration Of Intellectual Property version is much better.

My Interpretationmmhmm, let me venture my interpretation, its about growing up in a new age where there are new "social obligations" to contend with. Even if we ourselves are not involved with all the new social media stuff, when our peers do so, we are all compelled to do so. What the song is then about is a person who feels that he will not and doesn't want to jump onto the bandwagon of social media, and he fears that he will be ostracized because of that. "The folks on TV have their reason and the mass media toys all suggest bits and pieces of this. Everywhere he goes, he is reminded of the NEED to be socially connected with via these newly imposed social obligations.
