Square in the face
So many spacecraft
Hovering over like a third eye
Why am I
Hovering over myself
I'm flipping out in the magazine neighbourhood *neighborhood*
It's just like everybody said you would be greased
I should be living, giving my mind
A chance to rewind and play back
Beautiful music
I should be living giving my mind
A chance to rewind and play back
Dangerous rhythm

We almost forgot,
Every building is a shop,
Every person is a shopper,
finally it almost seemed,
We almost forgot,
every building is a shop,
every person is a shopper,
finally

When we started walking
I was in the 1940's,
Simplified politics,
Marvel at the architecture,
You were off on camera,
Gathering the setting sun,
The red brick building tops,
Finally it almost seemed authentic,
As we headed further west
Into the worst out of the best,
Magazine neighbourhood
We saw, we saw *we saw* trees
And public enemies *enemies*

I should be living giving my mind
A chance to rewind and playback
Beautiful music
I should be living giving my mind
A chance to rewind and playback
Dangerous rhythm

We almost forgot
Every building is a shop
Every person is a shopper
Finally it almost seemed
We almost forgot
Every building is a shop
Every person is a shopper
Finally it almost seemed we move
Out of the search light
Pass under the moonlight
Move out of the search light
Open up and spend the night
We almost forgot
Every building is a shop
Every person is a shopper
Finally it almost seemed
We almost forgot
Every building is a shop
Every person is a shopper
Finally it almost seemed we move
Out of the search light
Pass under the moon light
Move out of the search light
Open up and spend the night in parkdale

General CommentWell, I haven't actually heard thi song but I'm assuming this is about Parkdale the neighbourhood in Toronto. Where I actually live..
I had to laugh at this line.

    "As we headed further west,
Into the worst, out of the best"

Pretty much sums it up. Does anyone know where I can find this song?

General Commentthis song i love. i love the calm sound to it - and i get a pretty obvious message...i dont know if anyone else sees it. regardless of WHERE parkdale is i think the emphasis lies perfectly in the line "we almost forgot every building is a shop, every person is a shopper..." living in a consumer or "magazine" neighborhood (which we all really do and are frequently reminded of) and forgetting altogether in a short span of peace. don't know if thats what the intention was - but i can definitely see it and relate for sure.

General CommentI was just cruising through the "Parkdale" from this song yesterday and it is entirely true. Every single building is a shop! There are even repeat shops, like 4 beauty salons side by side, yet they still stay in competition. It's amazing.

General CommentA slightly more optimistic interpretation

Maybe... it's about someone looking back on parts of their life (or that's what I get from "why am I hovering over myself?" and "when we started walking, I was in the 1940's). In their maturity, they've learned that every person, every place and new experience is an opportunity so that they can later "rewind and play back beautiful music".
