I've been lying awake at night
I've been hoping that I'm alright
I've been winding myself too tight
Wondering If I will sleep tonight
Never thought things would get like this
Always hoping that they'd work out
Still ingesting the wrong amount
Now I seem to be filled with doubt

I cannot stop this ride
I'm growing cold inside
I shouldn't let it slide
will sickness be mine

This should not be my weight to bear
Go on acting like I don't care
Stop this high --- I wouldn't dare
I have earned and deserve my share
Things like this happen every day
While I'm in there I feel okay
But you say I should go away
Let me go for just one more day

I cannot stop this ride
I'm growing cold inside
I shouldn't let it slide
will sickness be mine

I cannot stop this ride
I'm growing cold inside
I shouldn't let it slide
will sickness be mine

I've got to medicate myself, I'm not concerned about my health
It covers up what I've been dealt, it seems the only way
I've got to medicate myself, it's been the only thing that helped
Must cover up what I have felt, it seems the only way

I cannot stop this ride
I'm growing cold inside
I shouldn't let it slide
will sickness be mine

I cannot stop this ride
I'm growing cold inside
I shouldn't let it slide
will sickness be mine

Sickness is mine, sickness is mine, sickness is mine

General Commentwhen i listen to it i think its a song about drug addiction. he uses drugs as a medication to heal his pain form the real world but then it shows how it hurts him even more. but that's just my opinion.

General CommentI agree, when i typed my message before, i thought about it and that was what i thought it would be about. Using drugs and doesn't care if the drugs will harm his body or not.

General Commentthis song is obviously about drug addiction. "Stop this high --- I wouldn't dare"
"I've got to medicate myself, I'm not concerned about my health" no doubt about drugs.

General CommentThis song has the most blatant reference to drugs that I have ever heard. Just about every line refers to drug use.

General CommentWow, is the only thing I could say while listening to this song. I've never been an incredibly happy person, but my freshman and sophomore years of high school were particularily bad. People died, family and girl problems, stress, etc.

I used alcohol and pot as a means of escape for far too long.

General Commentyou people dont know what real sickness is....
i often lie in bed and wonder why i feel no love, no pain, no anger. and all the people who "love" me tell me i need help. that i should be medicated. i too am growing cold inside. "sickness is mine" and i wont let anyone or anything get in the way of my "emotion" no medication, no "happy pills". i wont bow before them and allow them to control me with theire attempts to make me a "normal person" the normal will be allowed to follow, but the insane shall lead.
