To be closest
To be far away
I need desperately to be one with you
Smell of incense early morning light
We'll sleep all day then we'll go out at night
Trapped and I'm enslaved in this skin cage
Maybe in a dream
Maybe in a dream I will be one with you
To be closest to
To be far away
I need desperately to be one with you
Smell of incense early morning light
We'll sleep all day then we'll go out at night
Trapped and I'm enslaved in this skin cage
Maybe in a dream
Maybe in a dream I will be one with you
why, yeah why?
why, yeah
why, tell me, why?

General CommentThis song is an Awesome song, would i love to see it remastered. Along with all the demo's. This song to me is a persons conflict with his/herself. A persons knowledge of what is right but still doing the wrong thing, and then questioning theirself why they did it. I hope that made sense sometimes i have a hardtime conveying my thoughts into speech that makes sense.

General CommentIt's suppossed to be "to be close is to be far away". Anyways i think this is another song about god. He's trapped inside a skin cage (his worldly body) and it seems like the only way to be with god is in his dreams

General CommentThe song writer, Jon Crosby, lost a treasured lover to suicide early on before his career started. He still feels haunted by her. He is, as the other comment writer stated, trapped in his wordly body while his former lover is "free." Sound familiar? Many of this artist's songs work through he emotions on this personal tradgety. However in his latest albums he appears to have moved on and is dating and has even fathered a son. The past still creeps into his lyrics from time to time.

Listen to "Touched" from the first album again carefully. It is about the girlfriend's suicide. "Pretty When You Cry" is about rape. She seems to have been deeply troubled when alive.
