My eyes touch concrete
It feels just like a dream
So soft in my hands
I've no other place
If God wanted us to fly
Then he would have gave us wings
And if God wanted to survive
Why'd he have to build machines?
Real
Oh, nothing's real
Except his womb
Electric womb
And I, I see buildings that look like your silhouette
So begins in my mind that my mind cannot forget
If God wanted us to fly
Then he would have gave us wings
And if God wanted to survive
Why'd he have to build machines?
Real
Oh, nothing's real
Except this womb
Electric womb forget
If God wanted us to fly
Then he would have gave us wings
And if God wanted to survive
Why'd he have to build machines
Real
Oh, nothing's real
Except this womb
Electric womb

    Real
    Oh, Nothing's real.

That is by far the best lyric of the entire song. Being a christian, this just strikes such a chord with me. The dependecy (sp lol) on technology today, makes me sick, and people wonder why so many walk around faithless and frigid. The title, makes me think of science's big push for cloning, test tube babies, the capability to change your child's genes. All in all. i love this song, it speaks a lot of truths.

General CommentFirst, a minor correction to the lyrics:
And if [Man] wanted to survive
Why'd he have to build machines?

I agree with VASTjunkie in saying that this line is the keystone of the song. Basically, he's pointing out the irony in the fact that we've become so proud of, and dependent upon technology, that it's as if we've enveloped ourselves in a womb... If our electrical grid were to shut down, and our satellites were to fail, we would all be as helpless as a newborn baby...

General CommentAlso... I just wanted to add that this song REALLY bugs me... Call me a stickler for grammar, but the line "Then he would have gave us wings" is egregiously improper... "Then we would be born with wings" would have fit perfectly...
