Sitting here on top of the hill
I've got everything
I ever need from this world
Oh tonight, I got it right
Just one time

Cruising down the Sunset Strip
And there is nothing that's not
That's not within my grip
Oh tonight, I can fly
I can fly, yeah

Look at me for the very last time
I've climbed so high
I've got no place left to climb
I'm too good for tomorrow, oh

Rock star, pop star, everybody dies
All tomorrow's parties
They have happened tonight
And I know
That I won't
Be tomorrow

Sitting on the Hollywood sign
Watching the girls get off the bus
Watching the sparkle in their eyes
And they leave with broken hearts
Their useless valentines

I came here from a dirty dark street
There was no one there to protect me
To make the nightmares go away
It has to sparkle
It has to shine

Look at me for the very last time
See if you find any life in my eyes
I won't beg, no way, not from sorrow

Rock star, pop star, everybody dies
All tomorrow's parties
They have happened tonight
And I know that I won't see tomorrow

Turn off the pornos
Been drowning here for days
Bad food, bad sex, bad TV, internet
Take all these stupid pills away

Crashing down the boulevard
I'm coming down so fast
I'm coming down so hard
And the doctor said, "I can't stop
All those voices in your head"

Look at me for the very last time
I'm drowning here, I'm drowning at the speed of light
And I know, no tomorrow

Rock star, pop star, I'll just stay alive
All tomorrow's parties
They have happened tonight
And I know that I won't leave tomorrow

No
Climbing all the mountains in this dirty little town
It was easy going up, it's so hard to come down
That you walked away and went and rocked it tomorrow

Yeah
Yesterday's girl or tomorrow's hot teen?
Were you jerking off to her
Or were you jerking off to me?
On a rockstar, waitin' 'til the wheels fall off
'Cause girls like me, she never gets what she wants

Top-down, yahoo, million-dollar pills
No one knows the other way through Hollywood Hills
And I know, we'll be late for tomorrow

No
You were made for me, Oh baby, I was made for you
Keys to the Bel-Air, the chateau too
It's not pomp, it's not cool, it's not even boring
You rock'n'roll bitches always get what you want, yeah

Oh God, they tried to steal my soul
I got pils when I'm famous
I got pills when I'm old
Your little sugar-coated world
It is rotten to the core
And I didn't know you were born without a soul

I've got pills for when I'm blonde
I've got pills when I'm dead
I got pills that make me forget what I said
Beyond all delusions and a questionable head
Look at my eyes, oh baby, tell me we are dead

Sitting on the Hollywood sign
Watching love walk out
Watching the light in my eyes
Tonight, I got it right, just one time

Cruising down the Sunset Strip
There is nothing that's not
That's not within my grip
You said, "Tonight, baby you fly, know you can fly"

I think this song is about all the little wannabe models/actresses/hookers/waitresses trying to break into Hollywood to be megastars,But Courtney dosent have to try cos shes already "sitting here on top of the world" and "ive climbed so high ive got no place left to climb" and i may add the price of fame always has the bad parts.when she says about Drugs and being insane "the doctor said i cant stop all those voices in your head" or "ive been drowning here for days, bad food bad sex bad tv,internet" i like this song, fabulous!

The last 2 minutes of Sunset Strip are a bliss to listen.. They have the most emotion packed into 2 minutes out of any song anyone heard in 2004, thats makes America's Sweetheart so compelling.. It has emotion..

This song is a beautiful ode to/ expose of celebrity and a reaffirmation of the power of music (specifically rock).

man, kurt was unbelievably attractive. one of the more memorable dreams ive had was making out with kurt cobain on top of a car. mmm. i know they always talking about courtney murdering him, but she sang a song with hole, a cover, called 'pale blue eyes' and every word was filled with this longing.. you can tell she really loved him.

also, several of the lyrics in this song are wrong. im listening to it while reading at a few are real bad, but the general meaning is through.

Anyway... I agree, this song is fucking awesome. I orgasmed the first time I heard it. I think she incorperates Kurt's death, the celebrity world and herself into one. I mean, she has all this fame and fortune but she doesn't have Kurt. But I think she realizes these things.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
