everything i do
everything is you

cinderella hope
and it's all because you made me laugh
coincidence or fate
running towards a catastrophe

and everything i choose
everything for you
and everything always in time will come
and i believe it's all for a reason

she asked how we are
she asked if i was all weird again
and of course i am
but i'm trying really, really hard
so i lied to her
and i was wearing this prisoner face
so deep inside she had to know
i'm feeling lost inside the low

everything always in time will come

and lying in your bed
i am a refugee you try to love
am i wasting all of your time
and all my cute days on regret?
is it healthy that we met?

everything always in time will come

is it wrong holding on
to my best friend my faded lover?
who knows?

coincidence or fate
running towards what is meant to be

save me

everything always in time will show
then we will know, it will show
everthing always in time will come
and i believe for everything there is a reason
and everything always in time will...

everything i do
everything is you

General Commentfor some reason i always imagined "she" to be Tony's mom. a woman who is involved, who would still be a part of both of their lives after a long time, who is close enough to ask, but Gwen would still feel not able to be fully truthful with. Just a guess

General CommentThis song was written during the "Return of Saturn" era and, accordingly, I think this song is about how one feels ambivalence about relationships during their Saturn returrns (roughly, ages 27-30): Part of you feels like you should settle down before you get old and unattractive, but there's a constant nagging that you might be making a wrong move or staying with the wrong person ("Am I wasting all of your time and all my cute days on regret?")

Another part I can identify with (I'm 27) is the "I'm feeling lost inside the low" Basically to me, this means being confused about feelings of depression when everything is seemingly going well. It's usually an internalized conflict that you don't want to tell many people about, hence: "She asked if I was all weird again. And of course I am, but I'm trying really really hard, so I lied to her."

In one line she says, "Coincidence or fate? Running towards a catastrophe" and in another she says, "Coincidence or fate? Running towards what is meant to be" You can't get a much clearer cut example of wishy-washy emotions.

In the end, she decides to stay with the guy even though she is unsure of her feelings, ("Is it wrong holding on to my best friend, my faded lover? Who knows?") but is hopeful that she will eventually know how she feels: "Everything always in time will come."

My InterpretationTo me this song is a song about loving someone who doesn't love you back romantically. A girl falls in love with her best friend who doesn't love her back. She does everything in hopes that eventually he will change his mind (Cinderella hope..) but deep down she knows there is no guarantee. She could be doing everything for nothing (Am I wasting all your time and my cute days on regret?).

They are close and he tries to love her(A refugee you tried to love). She does everything to try to keep their friendship intact but fluctuates between being friends and being in pain from unrequited love (She asked if I was all weird again, and of course I am, but I'm trying really really hard).

She can't seem to make a decision either way, to try to move forward or to try to let go. She is stuck in the middle so the only thing she can do is trust that time will fix things (everything always in time will show...).

My InterpretationThis song is basically about her relationship with Tony and her relationship with Gavin. When she asks "Is it wrong, holding on too much? My best friend my fated lover... Who Knows." Her best friend is Tony and her 'fated' lover is Gavin she is torn between the two, because she fears that it may not be healthy that she still hangs around her ex while she's with someone else, hence she asks Gavin "Is it healthy that we met?". Also the 'she' is probably refering to either one of Gavin ex-girlfriend (perhaps the one whom he had a child with and never told Gwen or someone else) or either Tony's wife (highly doubtable). Anyway, we know this is the same person gwen talks about from Magic's in the Make up 'the ones I loathe are the ones that know me the best" hence "she'd ask if I was all weird again, and of course I am, but I was trying really hard so I lied to her.'' This girl can see past Gwen's colors, and it is obvious there is some form of hostility between them.
