"In My Daughter's Eyes" as written by and James T. Slater....
In my daughter's eyes,
I am a hero,
I am strong and wise,
And I know no fear,
But the truth is plain to see,
She was sent to rescue me,
I see who I want to be,
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes,
Everyone is equal,
Darkness turns to light,
And the world is at peace,
This miracle God gave to me,
Gives me strength when I am weak,
I find reason to believe,
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand around my finger,
How it puts a smile in my heart,
Everything becomes a little clearer,
I realize what life is all about,
It's hanging on when your heart is had enough,
It's giving more when you feel like giving up,
I've seen the light,
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes,
I can see the future,
A reflection of who I am and what will be,
And though she'll grow and someday leave,
Maybe raise a family,
When I'm gone I hope you'll see,
How happy she made me,
For I'll be there,
In my daughter's eyes

General Commentthis song was played at my five year old sisters funeral.
it was so appropriate too because she taught us all the way love should be, equal and pure. she was so strong willed and vivacious. i try to live my life like she did, never worryin about anything and loving everyone.

General CommentOk, this song is kinna self explanitory. Its about Martina singing, pretty much, about her daughter. And telling the whole world about how much she loves her and what she means to her. Whenever I'm listening to the radio in bed at night, I can never fall asleep without hearing it.

General CommentShe's also singing about how her daughter has changed her life, and turned it around... and saved her form herself at times.

General CommentThis song is great, I'm not a parent myself, but it always brings a tear to my eye, very touching. In fact the man who wrote the song, James Slater, does not even have a daughter or any children either. Amazing huh?

General CommentFor those of you who will never have a chance to look into your daughters eyes as you listen to this beautiful song, I wish you strength and courage to find happiness. For I am a father of the most precious little 3 year old a father could ever want. I fight to keep from tearing up everytime I hear it. You say the writer, James slater doesnt have any kids? Who would have thought, THAt ISzz AMAZing! As well as the song, it speaks for itself... Veryy Beautiful!!!
