Something told me it was over (yeah)
When I saw you and her talking
Something deep down in my soul said, "Cry girl" (cry, cry)
When I saw you and that girl, walking now

Ooh, I would rather, I would rather go blind boy
Than to see you, walk away from me child, no

Ooh, so you see, I love you so much
That I don't want to watch you leave me babe
Most of all, I just don't
I just don't want to be free no, ooh ooh

I was just, I was just, I was just sitting here thinking
Of your kiss and your warm embrace, yeah
When the reflection in the glass
That I held to my lips now baby (yeah, yeah)
Revealed the tears that was on my face, yeah, ooh

And babe, baby (baby, baby, baby) I'd rather
I'd rather be blind boy
Than to see you walk away, see you walk away from me, yeah, ooh
Baby, baby, baby (baby, baby, bay)
I'd rather be blind now

No the song is about what it says. Nothing more, nothing less. It cant get anymore blunt, Id rather go blind than dealing with the hurt of seeing your loved one walk away.

Like SteelyDanforever said,It's about a woman who'd rather go blind than to see the one that she loves walking away with some one else. Just the thought of them being with someone else breaks her heart.

To me, this song is about lying to yourself, being blind on purpose about the fact that your loved one is about to leave 'cause loves you no more. You know it deep inside, but you are afraid of being alone outside of a relationship. You don't want to see it, but you know it will happen anyway, so all you have left is cry.

One of my undoubted all time favourites.

Intense song about the power of love really.

Etta James is a god-send. It is almost depressing that this song has so little comments on this site, reflective of its lack of recognition in the wider world.

WOW... One of my favorite songs. I think everyone can relate. Etta is incredible. Its a shame it took Beyonce, to give this woman any credit.

" i was just, i was just, i was just sittin' here thinkin, of your kiss, and you warm embrace.. yeahh!"

The pain and heartache in her vocal on this song moves me every time.

    RIP Etta.

I'm sorry, but although I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE Etta fan, each and every time I see this song title (anywhere) I think of masturbation :) It must be the Catholic in me, but this song makes me snicker every time! I won't bother deciphering the lyrics because they are not only straightforward, but I didn't select this song for them.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
