"Freedom" as written by Onika Tanya Maraj, Matthew Raymond Burnett and Matthew Jehu Samuels....
Everyday I hear a different story
People saying that you're no good for me
"Saw your lover with another and she's making a fool of you"

If you loved me baby you'd deny it
But you laugh and tell me I should try it
Tell me I'm a baby, and I don't understand

But you know that I'll forgive you
Just this once, twice, forever
'Cause baby, you could drag me to hell and back
Just as long as we're together
And you do

I don't want your freedom
I don't want to play around
I don't want nobody baby
Part time love just brings me down
I don't need your freedom
Girl, all I want right now is you

Like a prisoner who has his own key
But I can't escape until you love me
I just go from day to day knowing all about the other boys
You take my hand and tell me I'm a fool to give you all that I do
I bet you someday baby someone says the same to you

But you know that I'll forgive you
Just this once twice forever
'Cause baby, you could drag me to hell and back
Just as long as we're together
And you do

I don't want your freedom
I don't want to play around
I don't want nobody baby
Part time love just brings me down
I don't want your freedom
Girl, all I want right now is you

(Hug me baby, hug me baby)
(Hug me baby, hug me baby)

But you know that I'll forgive you
Just this once twice forever
'Cause baby, you could drag me to hell and back
Just as long as we're together
And you do

I don't want your freedom
I don't need to play around
I don't want nobody baby
Part time love just brings me down
I don't want your freedom
I don't want to play around
I don't want nobody baby
Part time love just brings me down
(I don't want your)

General CommentMan, there's a lot of errors in this.

2nd line - it's "people sayING that you're no good for me"
3rd line - it's "Saw your lover with another"
    5th line - it's "You'd deny it"
    6th line - it's "But you laugh"
Bridge - "But YOU know that'd I'd forgive..."
4th line of bridge - "drag me to hell", not "take me to heaven"
    Chorus - it's "nobody" not "nobody's"
And on the 2nd chorus, it switches back to "I don't want your freedom" instead of need.
If I could edit these lyrics, I would have.
Otherwise, this song is awesome and it is SO catchy!

General CommentFunny, this song and "Credit Card Baby" reminds me a little of W. Somerset Maugham's book "Of Human Bondage". The protagonist falls for a woman who isn't in love with him and lets her run all over him. Only when she's in dire straits does she begin to want him, which by this time, he doesn't want to be with her, despite still spending money on her. Just an observation.

    Cool song.

General CommentThe organ that fades in at the opening of "Faith" is playing this song. I used to think of it as a sort of bridge from Wham! to his solo career, implying continuity. But I now tend to hear it as a funeral-ish farewell to his Wham! days.

Song MeaningIt's about someone who loves another someone so much that he'd forgive anything she did to him. He'd rather be strung along by her than have his freedom - and he doesn't want anybody else, especially not for a short fling or one-night stand.
