My mind's made up
My mind's made up
I'm gonna come clean tomorrow
My mind's made up
My mind's made up
I'm gonna fly straight as an arrow
I'm gonna fly straight as an arrow
Ever since I made up my mind
Gonna cross my T's
Dot my I's
And everything will work out fine

My love got lost
My love got lost
This time she's gone for good
My love got lost
I paid the cost
Walking in the deep dark woods
Walking in the deep dark woods
Leaving them all behind
Gonna cross my heart
Hope to die
And everything'll work out fine

But now the cops showed up
The cops showed up
I never thought that they'd catch me
The cops showed up
What the fuck?
They're trying to turn me into a patsy
They're trying to turn me into a patsy
But I didn't commit no crime
Gonna shut my mouth and name no names
And everything'll work out fine

All my friends, where did they go?
To Montreal, Toronto
All my friends, they split too soon
They split town with the fork and the spoon
They all split town and they left me
Sitting with a bottle of wine
Gonna pop the cork
Say my goodbyes
And everything'll work out fine

Poor white trash, where did you go?
I got lost out in the snow
Poor white trash, what do you say?
I'm radioactive and I'm floating away
I'm feeling kind of radioactive
But I'll make it to the church on time
Gonna get down on my knees and pray
That everything will work out fine

The fourth verse is about everyone leaving Halifax, whether it be friends or bands, ie Sloan.

the fifth verse was actually written after Joel had watched a bad 60s B movie called "Poor White Trash". The theme song went something like "Poor white trash where did he go, boogied his way to mexico".

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
