"Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" as written by Gerard Marsden, John Leslie Chadwick, Fred Marsden and Leslie Charles Maguire....
Don't let the sun catch you cryin' The night's the time for all your tears Your heart may be broken tonight But tomorrow in the morning light Don't let the sun catch you cryin' The night-time shadows disappear And with them go all your tears For the morning will bring joy For every girl and boy So don't let the sun catch you cryin' We know that cryin's not a bad thing But stop your cryin' when the birds sing It may be hard to discover That you've been left for another But don't forget that love's a game And it can always come again Oh don't let the sun catch you cryin' Don't let the sun catch you cryin', oh no Oh, oh, oh

    General CommentLove...this...song!
Gerry & The Pacemaker's took a sad song and made it sadder, but with hope....see "Big Girls Don't Cry by The Four Season's."
    Job well done.

General CommentIt's from a passage in the Bible.....Psalms 30-5...For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. It is about having hope and faith about facing hardships with courage & the promise of grace and goodness in our lives when we believe and preservere.

General CommentFrom the singer's pov this song is saying to the dumpee, in the most eloquent fashion possible... "Hey I know this is gonna hurt you a lot... But out of the blue I'm leaving you for someone else. But for my benefit please don't make this hard on me by letting me see you sad. So when I'm around, put on a happy face, so I don't have to feel guilty. So go ahead and cry tonight... but tomorrow you should shut up and dont act all butthurt.... Cos you'll be fine and eventually find someone else."
As coldhearted as it gets while spin doctoring it with a flowery delivery.
Does my interpretation seem bitter? If it does... It's because my baby just sent this song to me.
