Well I'm standing on the corner
Gonna jump out of my skin
Gonna float above the buildings
See which one your in
We can finally stop the traffic
We can finally stop the trains
We can act like we're above it
Till it starts to feel the same

Whatever you do
Whatever you do

And It's screaming from the payphones
And it's dripping from the trees
And it's moving through the pavement
Underneath your feet
See them diving from the bridge
In the city down below
Turn it all into a harddrive
And plug me in
I don't want to know

Whatever you do

It could never be this easy
But if she ever leaves me
I'll hit the ground
And it's so much
Up here
We've got to maintain

General CommentThis is probably my favourite song on the album, it's got a beautiful, airy guitar sound and pleading vocals which lead me to believe it's about that feeling you get when you know you should probably break it off with someone, but you love the way they make you feel about yourself. The companionship and the love--whether it's actually there or not--makes you feel whole, so you sort of try to "maintain" a relationship, inventing something in your head about how it's all actually perfect, i.e. "Turn it all into a harddrive
    And plug me in
    I don't want to know"
