"Masterpiece" as written by Anthony S Raneri, Jack A O'shea, John Holohan and Nick Ghanbarian....
My friend,
You're always the last one to leave
Those dimly lit rooms.
Making sure the last glass makes its way to the table empty.
And every bottle in the place
Has been upside down
At least a few times what a waste.
Is this what's left of you these days?

You're not eighteen anymore.
Five years should have been,
Enough time for you to grow up and get over this.
Not too cool to be throwing up all morning sick
From what you might have done or done it with.

And I swear if I could take your pain
And frame it and hang it on my wall,
Maybe you would never have to hurt it all.
Painting pictures in red and blue.

A portrait bruise just like you
And now you're walking away.

You're not eighteen anymore.
Five years should have been,
Enough time for you to grow up and get over this.
Not too cool to be throwing up all morning sick from what you might of done.

When is enough, finally enough?

The hang-ups and the heartbreaks get you past.
Our failures lay down but just accept yourself.
Find some thing that brings you closer to complete.

Painting pictures in red and blue.
A portrait bruise just like you and now you're walking away.

You're not eighteen anymore.
Five years should have been,
Enough time for you to grow up and get over this.
Not too cool to be throwing up all morning sick
From what you might of done or done it with.

When is enough, finally enough?
When is enough, finally enough?

General CommentHe sits and watches his friend waste away his life with an addiction to acohol and drugs. He tells him to grow up and take a look at himself and what he has done. Time to grow up.

General CommentI stumbled upon their Purevolume profile on accident because my middle school's name was Bayside and I was looking for my school's site to check my grades, and it just popped up so I listened to this song. After I listened to this song, I was like "...Kick-ass!"

General Commentthis song is sweet. has anybody else noticed that this song sounds exactly like an alkaline trio song - the wandering melody and vocal phrasing mostly, but also some of the guitar parts.

anyway, this song is about a friend who has been devastated by mistakes and heartbreak in the past and now has a serious drug and alcohol problem. he wants his friend to move on and not waste his life because of things that happened 5 yrs ago.

General Commentcorettascottrocks, I never really thought about it, but now that you mention it, I realize it does sound like an Alkaline Trio song! That must be why I like it so much, lol.
