If I had know what you'd of say
I would of turned and walked away
Can't hold the tears even though I try
'Cause there's nothing quite as sad as goodbye

Don't want to think about tomorrow
You won't be here by my side
All of a sudden I feel hollow
'Cause nothings quite as sad as goodbye

So I'm alone again
Trying to find the ticket to the nxt train (to the next train)
I'm on my own again
Waiting in the line
For a new (new) beginning (new beginning)

I know that we are better off
Still I feel that I've lost
Wen I look into your eyes
There's nothing quite as sad as goodbye

So I'm alone again
Trying to find the ticket to the next train (to the next train)
I'm on my own again
Waiting in the line
For a new (new) beginning (new beginning)

Back to where I started
Try my love again
Now I've got my heart set
On a better day
Who's to say what's waiting?
Just around the bend
Can't do more then hope and pray for a better day

So I'm alone again
Trying to find the ticket to the next train (to the next train)
I'm on my own again
Waiting in the line
For a new (new) beginning
Whoa
Yeah
I'm on my own again
For a new beginning, oh yeah
New beginning.

i loveeee this song so much. i think its pretty much about saying goodbye and just starting over again, as hard as it might be and how much you dont think you can...

when i hear him sing "there's nothing quite as sad as goodbye" ohhh breaks my heart!

i met shannon in august last year and what a beautiful beautiful person! absolute legend! took the time to chat and sign stuff and have photos.. just a lovely person.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
