Maximize my pleasure maximize my pain
Til a ben heaven send in this downward spiral with no end
Angelface filled with sin i will lick it clean. Fixate my eyes to the tv scream

Treasurize this entertainment now!
By public demand we work for this pleasure.

Mesmerize my god mesmerize my blood
From his mind to his spine we will make him doubt about his might!

Treasurize this entertainment now!
This is where we stand until we fall

[Chorus]
Generation speedkill operation seedspill [x2]

Brutalize my lifetime brutalize my thoughts
In a trance, last dance for mr. moralize

[Chorus]

On this open road of no regrets
Born on a plate, food for velvet lies

[Repeat First Verse]

Sterilize this moment of truth that we stand for!
This is where we stand until we fall!
Treasurize this entertainment now!
This is where we stand until we fall!

[Repeat Chorus]

My InterpretationThis song is a commentary on generation X (and possibly generation y) in that it speaks of the influence that the media (specifically MTV) had on these generations.

    From the first portion:

"Maximize my pleasure maximize my pain
Til a ben heaven send in this downward spiral with no end
Angelface filled with sin i will lick it clean. Fixate my eyes to the tv scream"

This section deals with the downward spiral of the working life being a tedious ongoing nightmare that shows no end till retirement or death. The MTV or whatever is on the "tv scream" becomes the opiate that the person draws pleasure from to escape the monotony of life.

    The next section:

    "Treasurize this entertainment now!
By public demand we work for this pleasure.

Mesmerize my god mesmerize my blood
From his mind to his spine we will make him doubt about his might!

    Treasurize this entertainment now!
This is where we stand until we fall"

This section again reinforces the fact that people live to witness the entertainment in the media. It is their only joy in the monotonous existence that their daily lives deprive from them.

    The Chorus:

    "Generation speedkill operation seedspill [x2]

Brutalize my lifetime brutalize my thoughts
In a trance, last dance for mr. moralize "

The chorus essentially speaks to the point that we are living our lives as if there were no tomorrow. One of the traits of Generation Y (and to a lesser extent X) is that we grew up with 9/11, columbine, Virginia Tech, and the mass murders up close and personal on our TV and computers. Our lives and thoughts have been trained to live life for the moment and accomplish as much as possible in as little time as possible. Essentially we view our lives as some sort of video game with a time limit on how far we can go in life - like a Final Fantasy or other RPG but with a time limit to gain as much experience and as many pivotal moments in life as possible.

    The next portion

"On this open road of no regrets
Born on a plate, food for velvet lies "

Describes that we rarely look back at what we have done as failures as to do so would undermine the "speedkill" lifestyles that our generations strive for. Many of us are born into comparatively (compared to most of the other world) fortunate lives (on a plate) but look at negative experiences (divorce, sexual or mental abuse, isolation in school) to feed our desire to be the underdog or victim who uses the accomplishments of life to "get revenge" on those who wronged them in life. It is the super ego that reigns supreme in this part of life.

    The last portion:

"Sterilize this moment of truth that we stand for!
This is where we stand until we fall!
    Treasurize this entertainment now!
This is where we stand until we fall!"

Deals with the time where we realize we are not victims and that we must enjoy the NOW and not keep looking to the future to fill our desires. The entertainment in the media continues to drag us down and we must stand against its influence to keep from falling into its influence.

This song has meaning and this is what I believe it is.

General CommentWoow suprised that there are no comments for this amazing song.
Well this is the first song i heard of soilworks. I am in mixed opinions to what this song is about. The part "Angelface filled with sin i will lick it clean" can either be a methaphor for a slut or drug or this entire song about the pleasure of killing someone?
