Thousands of hairs
Two eyes only
Its you

Some skin
Billions of genes
Again its you

XX XY
That's why it's you and me

Your blood is red
It's beautiful genetic love

Biological
I don't know why I feel that way with you
Biological
I need your DNA

Biological
I don't know why I feel that way with you
Biological
I need your DNA

Your fingerprints
The flesh, her arm, your bones

I'd like to know
Why all these things move me

Let's use ourselves to be as one tonight

Apart of me would like to travel in your veins

Biological
I don't know why I feel that way with you
Biological
I need your DNA

Biological
I don't know why I feel that way with you
Biological
I need your DNA

I'm not sure what to make of it. If you look at it one way, it could be about how the natural forces of attraction pull people together. But it could also mean that it's all just flesh, DNA, and atoms and in the end it doesn't mean anyhing.

XX and XY are female and male chromosones, for your info.

I agree with the second comment, I for one wished that I wrote that song. So simple... brilliant... no one really takes a look at what we are made of and let alone make a song of it... makes me feel that we take a lot of granted.

I think this song is about how perfect love can make a person or how perfect a person is just by....being. On the other hand last time i heard it I also thought "we are just flesh covering our bones, why should we bother then about outr appearance so much?" Though: couldn't agree more with the second comment

I think this song is about how perfect his lover is in every way. It's also nihilist in a sense that we are all comprised of flesh and bones. We are nothing but we are everything.

Oh yes, I love this song so much, it's pure beauty. I think it's about how his love is so primal and it's just instinct for men and women to be attracted to eachother. Like how he says her blood is beautiful. She is living and breathing and just that is beautiful to him, like he's worshipping the human body, not just the outside but everything that makes it up, the bones and fingerprints.

/Let's use ourselves to be as one tonight Apart of me would like to travel in your veins/

That part is him sweet talking her into having sex. ;)

Saying he needs her DNA is kind of love saying he needs her soul, her esssence, her body and mind, everything that is her.

Lovely beautiful and very deep and meaningful.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
