"Dead Men Tell No Tales" as written by and Ian Fraser/clarke Kilminster....
I'll be the salt that resides from the water that drains from your eyes;
The sting that burns your open wounds.
I'll flood the ground. I swear on your grave, I'll bury this town,
But not for me, no never for me.

We have tested the buoyancy of loyalty.
You left our lungs for canteens.
You left our ankles for anchors.
We thought your arms were tied behind your back,
But elastic bands tied your hands.
You swim with reckless abandon.

Abandon ship! Mayday! Mayday!
Swim toward shore!
Our captain is overboard!
He punctured holes in the floorboards
To flood the bow just in time to bow out.
He's over bored and overboard.

Left in the wake, we man our own driftwood orphanage,
A second-hand sailor's fleet to flee.
But in the wake, we man our own driftwood orphanage.
Captain is over bored and overboard.
Captain is calling.

And there's nothing you can do when water ruins the maps we drew.
Mayday! Mayday! Save us from this drowning vessel!

General Commenti'd say, "i heard it was about ben leaving the band."

but i don't want to spread rumors.
it does make sense, though. "tested the bouyancy of loyalty" and then their lungs are filled with water, and their ankles are at the ocean floor...so the loyalty didn't float. the wreckage parts...

General CommentOf course it's about Ben leaving. Not only did he write a song in response, but the signs are obvious.

"We thought your arms were tied behind your back,
But elastic bands tied your hands."
-They though they could trust him and that everything was copasetic. But he abandoned them.

"Left in the wake we man our own driftwood orphanage."
-Orphanage meaning the band. Maybe they referred to the group as that because they were 'leaderless' (the frontman of the band left).

"He punctured holes in the floorboards,
to flood the bow just in time to bow out."
-Maybe he messed things up and left without making an effort to help resolving some of the issues.

    "Abandon ship.
    Mayday, Mayday
    Swim towards shore.
    Our captain is overboard."
-They were in distress and not sure what to do.

That's just my take on the song, I could be (most likely) completey wrong.

    General Commentmelty0faceoff: story about treos.
melty0faceoff: i know this because my friends are friends with them and they're from around here...
melty0faceoff: they've been aorund for years
melty0faceoff: they had another singer, but he was liek 16 and wanted to finish school, so they got pissed off at him and wrote "dead man tell no tales" they deny the fact that they were ever a band before they wrote between the heart and the synapse. blah blah blah, long story short, he formed a new band called the lido venice and they're amazing. and now he's in like 50,000 other bands.
melty0faceoff: so next time we're both on, i'll send you old treos and lido venice songs.
melty0faceoff: it's funny because one of the lido venice songs is about treos
    melty0faceoff: lyrics:
    melty0faceoff: WHEN YOU WERE
ON THE RECEIVING END OF SIRENS.
I HOPE YOU WERE DEAFENED BY MY SPLASH,
BECAUSE IF THEIR VOICES HIT YOUR
    EARS THIS TIME,
    AFTER MY BURIAL AT SEA,
THEY'LL LURE YOU TO THE ROCKS FOR SURE.
NO ONE WILL MAKE IT OUT ALIVE.
