Look alive gentlemen,
Or fake your death, your wounds undressed beneath your costumes.
Some are so well rehearsed for hearses it hurts, always the first to wave the white flag
And barricade themselves in false pretenses, fox holed in trenches
Forged casualties with casual pleas, dying to please the enemy.

They’d die to stay alive.
We kill to survive.

We are the corps of corpses.
We are up in arms and armed
Bring on all the King’s horses and all the King’s men.

Push on, plot on. These legs like pistons pumping. Forward motion.
Convalescent men in uniform.
We have fallen to friendly fire. Shrapnel freckles our spine.
Still our feet fall. One by one.

We are the corps of corpses.
We are up in arms and armed
Bring on all the King’s horses and all the King’s men.

We were lead to led lovers while marching to the beat.
We were lead to led lovers we kissed so well. We kissed so well.

The cannon’s calling our name.
I hear her singing to me.
Singing softly under her breathe.
The cannon’s calling our name.
I hear her singing to me in morse code.
“To arms to arms. This is a revolution, this is our revolution”
We are the corps of corpses.
We are up in arms and armed.

General CommentThis song is awesome, and i can't believe TREOS is on here too. I thought they broke up when the lead singer left, glad to know they are still together.

General Comment"The war of all against all" is a direct quote from the early philosopher Hobbes who believed life in the state of nature (without government) would be nasty, brutish and short. he basically said that humans are only looking out for themselves and will kill eachother off without some kind of social contract.

I love this song in particular because of all the clever puns, especially "dying to please the enemy."

Another one ... "Bring on all the King’s horses and all the King’s men." This is from Humpty Dumpty if you don't remember it, basically saying that you could bring the entire army and still not be able to piece humpty dumpty back together again ;)

"We were lead to led lovers" lead lovers = gun lovers? Not sure, that's the only thing I can interpret from it.

General Comment"we were led to lead lovers" ...it means lead as in lead from a bullet. the next line is we kissed so well or something like that. its just about being shot and killed

General Comment"we were lead to lead lovers marching to the beat, to the beat. we were lead to lead lovers, we kiss so well, we kiss so well."

"lead to lead lovers" is just that they were lead to a fresh bullet to the head, calling the bullet a lead lover.

"marching to the beat" means they were following orders from people on their side

"we kiss so well" this is saying they kiss the lover so well, they got shot and betrayed so easily. meaning they fell right into the trap because they trusted so well.

and yes, it's not wall of all against all, it's war.

the "bring all the kings horses and all the kings men" part is sayign that it doesnt matter if you get the whole army together, you can't fix the war of all against all, because it's everyman for himself, peopel will betray and be betrayed. and every man will have his dying day; or and hold his own, on his own.
