"Stranger In Paradise" as written by Henry Binns and Osmond Wright....
Take my hand I'm a stranger in paradise
All lost in a wonderland
A stranger in paradise
If I stand starry-eyed
That's a danger in paradise
For mortals who stand beside an angel like

I saw your face and I ascended
Out of the commonplace into the rare
Somewhere in space I hang suspended
Until I know there's a chance that you care

Won't you answer this fervent prayer
Of a stranger in paradise?
Don't send me in dark despair
From all that I hunger for

But open your angel's arms
To the stranger in paradise
And tell him that we need be
Our stranger no more

General CommentIt's a love song - about someone who absolutely worships and adores the object of his love. Surely she's too perfect to exist. I think everyone has felt like that at least once.

My InterpretationI interpret this song as that of a person who has died and is in the process of the spirit being moved from Earth to Heaven, but who has come to a halfway point where it is concerned which way it is going to be transported. If the song is interpreted line by line, it can be intrerpreted this way in an ethereal manner. I have listened to this song since the 1950s when it was released, and it has become my all-time favorite song above all others.
