Voices break the silence. Shadows
infect the white-clad walls. Death is
breathing down your neck.
Yoy try ty flee. Forced into submis-
sion. You try to repent. A strip of
tape that kills the screams. You
know this is the end. Surgical steel
twist the flesh. The hand of doom
carves out the mesh.

D.O.A.
- What more when you're dead on arrival?
- What more when you're dead on arrival?
Doped up soul-Senses numb.
Fluids burst into flames. Every high
is a new low. In these vermin-infest-
ed streets. Chained to the altar of
debt. The breed of your sins. Nailed
to the cross of guilt. The spawn of
your greed. A strip of tape that kills
the screams. A deep inspired - The
circle is complete.

D.O.A.
- What more when you're dead on
arrival?
- What more when you're dead on
arrival?

- What more when you're dead on
arrival?

General CommentAnybody notice that this song reuses the absolutely kickass riff from "forensick"? absolutely brilliant riff :)
glad they used it again rather than just leaving it as an outro cos its an absolute killer

General CommentThis is probably The Haunted's most well known song.

Seems to me, it is about realising you are still alive, during an autopsy, but are unable to comunicate the fact, to anyone else.

General CommentHell yeah...I love One Kill Wonder better than their newer album rEVOLVEr (it's still badass) this song is fucking awesome and the lyrics express the aformentioned feelings about realizing you are still alive during an autopsy.

General CommentThe first verse is about kidnapping then murdering someone, and they realize they are dead on arrival.
the second verse seems to be about maybe homeless people ripped to nothing because of their debt and greed and how they are dead on arrival once they hit the streets.

also the lyrics are real good, i like how it's worded when he says "A strip of tape that kills
    the screams" and "Surgical steel
twist the flesh. The hand of doom
    carves out the mesh.
    "

    pretty colorful :)

My InterpretationI think the first verse is about "you" being the victim.

Voices break the silence. (The perpetrators come in to the room where you are held, after they possibly kidnapped you?)
Shadows infect the white-clad walls. (I guess it could mean you see the silhouettes/shadows of the perpetrators, or you're still regaining vision after some sort of torture?)
Death is breathing down your neck. (Pretty obvious, your death is very close)
Yoy try to flee. Forced into submission. You try to repent. (Pretty obvious too)
A strip of tape that kills the screams. (Tape is put over your mouth to stop you from screaming)
You know this is the end. (Obvious too)
Surgical steel twist the flesh. (They're cutting you open! :D)
The hand of doom carves out the mesh. (I guess they're carving out the "mesh" of your body. Possibly the skin and bone?)

The second verse, I think, is based on "you" being the killer.

Doped up soul-Senses numb. (You've taken a lot of drugs)
Fluids burst into flames. (Thrown a Molotov or something similiar to burn something, or you feel an adrenalin rush.)
Every high is a new low. In these vermin-infested streets. (I guess every single time you do something that you think is extreme, it turns in to nothing and need to find something else to satisfy your need. Vermin also suggests that the killer sees everyone as vermin, literally, and he feels like he must kill them)
Chained to the altar of debt. (This either means your in debt of lives, or you're killing to return the debts of a deity of some sort)
The breed of your sins. (You're creating sins, pretty obvious)
Nailed to the cross of guilt. (You're guilty of everything you've done, pretty obvious too)
The spawn of your greed. (You want more to satisfy your need of killing? I'm not too sure)
A strip of tape that kills the screams. (Discussed that before)
A deep inspired - The circle is complete. (You feel what you have done has sufficed your need)

The chorus, I don't know. Either talking about the victim or the perpetrator. Maybe it's saying there's no point in an autopsy, because you're already dead? I don't know.

That basically says it, in my opinion. I fucking love this song, and the band.
