I recall when the bright light descends
Something takes possession over me
I remember when the nightmares began
On that cold night of December 26th

I don't know what it is but I lost all control
Can't you see I'm condemned by the past that
They close in my history I don't want to be like
This no more you can't see what I mean but you
Would if you saw all the sight that I have seen

I cross my heart in hope to see
What I saw was not a part of me
Dig inside yourself and you shall feel
But dig to deep and you become like me

I hate to see one more get lost like I
To those big eyes
December
Evil words are spoken makes me fear
The world that now reigns over me
I was strong but now weak and I fall with my tears
Can't you please make the demons leave me be
I don't know what it is but I lost all control
Can't you see I'm condemned by the past that
They close in my history I don't want to be like
This no more you can't see what I mean but you
Would if you saw all the sight that I have seen

Please don't let your eyes meet mine
I have seen it all before
Cause the eyes mirror the soul

I hate to see one more get lost like I
Those big black eyes
December 26
Those big black eyes

I hate to see one more get lost like I
Those big black eyes
December 26
Those big black eyes

This is based on a true story. On December 26, 1985, horror novelist Whitley Strieber was allegedly abducted by aliens. At first he didn't remember any of it, but bit-by-bit he began to realize that SOMETHING had happened to him that night, and soon went to see a hypnotist. He was put under, and recalled a whole, complex memory of being abducted by...them. He wrote a whole book about all this, COMMUNION, which is Tom S. Englund's (the leader/vocalist/guitarist for Evergrey) biggest inspiration lyrically. From this book came this song, as well as "The Shocking Truth" and the whole of the concept of 2001's IN SEARCH OF TRUTH. Quite a good series of music, IMHO.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
