"Road Outside Columbus" as written by and Richard Joe On Marc Andrew Roberge....
There's a road outside Columbus, Ohio.
Feels like I drove along for years.
This Midwest way of ease it surrounds us.
I can't deny the rhythm here.
And as I pull away from Riverside beside me.
That High Street never looked so good.
I miss my lady even though she often writes me.
She tells me tales of my neighborhood.

Surprise, surprise, I traveled here.
Four hundred miles from where I'm known.
My friends are here.
A couple years I've spent,
I found I have a second home.

As I'm blazing down my trail to education.
There's no bliss in ignorance for me.
I stop and stare, a breath of air
Might slow me down some.
But that's just fine with me.

Surprise, surprise, I traveled here.
Four hundred miles from where I'm known.
My friends are here.
A couple years I've spent,
I found I have a second home.

I never traveled far.
Two hundred miles to go.
That boulevard will take me home.

Surprise, surprise, I traveled here.
Four hundred miles from where I'm known.
My friends are here.
A couple years I've spent,
I found I have a second home.
Surprise, surprise, I traveled here.
Four hundred miles from where I'm known.
My friends are here.
A couple years I've spent,
I found I have a second home.

General Commentthis is so cool, because honestly when you first come to columbus, it kinda sucks. the people here are really different and you just feel like you hafta get out all the time. then one day you look back and you know columbus is always going to be a home

My favorite lyric from this song. If you are from the Midwest you know exactly what it's all about. Definitely one of my top O.A.R. songs.

General CommentAn interesting contrast to I Feel Home.

I guess chill to this while you're at school, then chill to I Feel Home when you're back?

General Commentthe guys from OAR are from gaithersburg MD. thats about 400 miles from c-bus. that's the "400 miles from home part" i'm from central PA and went to school in PA. at first i hated the mid-west, too flat and boring, but "my friends are here" and "i've found i have a second home" so thats why this is one of my favorite songs

General Commentthis is far and away my favorite O.A.R. song. I dare say that the lyrics are unmatched, even by 'I feel home'(which is fantastic)
