Your eyes begin to stare at the polygraph machine as you become aware of the satellites that call her name.
It’s as if the ocean swallowed the city lights that we fell in love with.
Paralyzed and paranoid, we withdraw the hands we held.
This is the beginning to get ugly, dear.
You feed me to the lions.
Now the tongue becomes the bridge between the broken teeth.
Now you feed me to the lions.
How we reach for the arms but only clasp the knees.
How we reach for each other only to die alone.
How we reach for the stars only to swim through the dead.
How we strive to connect only to fall apart.
Just between you and me I felt the rapture in your arms.

General CommentPretty sure there's a line at the end that goes
"Just between me and you, I think of dying in your arms."

    General Commentyeah you're right, Waterproof.

I think this song is talking about a true love.
And that even if you find true love, it will not last forever beacuse this is not the nature of the world. Naturally, all thing are bound to end. And when this true love turned out to be mortal (even though he felt like it is immortal), he realizes that from now everything will go wrong.
"How we reach for the arms but only clasp the knees.
How we reach for each other only to die alone.
How we reach for the stars only to swim through the dead.
How we strive to connect only to fall apart. "

and even though all of this bad happens, he never forgets how true their love was. and he knows he will never feel the same- "Just between you and me I felt the rapture in your arms... I think of dying in your arms".

    General CommentI believe they say
"How we pray for each other only to die alone"
    not
"How we reach for each other only to die alone"
if that makes that much difference
