You paint a picture on the wall
Cause you've got a lot to tell me
But you don't think you could say it better oh baby

You're bringing up times I can't recall
And I'm sure they made your point
But I just can't seem to remember yeah

And I know you got the feeling
And I can't say I'm agreeing
With your topic of conversation
So just listen to the reasons
And the handset I've been giving
To the thoughts of my imagination

So come on let me see
I say baby you are amazing
I want to let you see
That you are everything and more to me
I will let you be I will I will

Cause I saw you walking down the hall
And I had a lot to tell you
But I didn't think you could say it better oh baby

You're good at making me feel so small
And I know you made your point
But I just don't want to remember yeah

And I know you've got the feeling
And I can't say I'm agreeing with your topic of conversation
So just listen to the reasons
And the hints that I've been given
To the thoughts of my imagination

So come on let me see
I say baby you are amazing
I want to let you see
That you are everything and more to me
I will let you be I will I will

Cause I'm dancing around
In your world of play
I'm taking my time to make sure you stay
I would give my life to make it okay yeah

So come on let me see

So come on let me see
I say baby you are amazing
I want to let you see
That you are everything and more to me
I will let you be I will I will

ever had a guy (or girl, if you're a guy) try to convince you of exactly how special you are? and you wouldn't believe him/her.

    this song is like that.

it's like he's trying to convince her of how special she is, because she's making it really hard for him. he wants to be with her, but she's being hard to get. she makes all the rules "dancing around in your world of play."

also, perhaps the reason that she won't be with him is that she's been in a really controlling relationhsip. "i will let you be."

she's freaking cool, and he just wants the chance to show her, but she's making it difficult for him. not that she's not giving him a chance, she's just hesitant. she wants to trust him, and he's letting her know she can. she's trying to convince him of why she can't be with him, but he's saying that nothing she throws at him is enough to convince him that it won't work. "you're bringing up times i can't recall and i'm sure they make your point but i just don't want to remember"

I agree with Sheena69, he definitely wants to show her just how much he loves her for who she is. I think that in her heart she knows exactly how he feels, but she thinks it just too good to be true, that she doesn't believe she's good enough for him, or she doesn't believe that she could find someone who loves her so easily. She wants to find a flaw because she thinks its too good to be true when in reality everything between them is true and they're both just being themselves and lovinb eachother for it. They appreciate eachother simply for acting so real. I think that the girl knows exactly what he means and the way she tries to contradict him fades away and the reality comes out and she finds shes not too good for him because through everything he loves her for who she is " I will let you be I will I will "

I disagree (like two years later)-I think it's about loving some one who's totally difficult. Like she's always wanting to argue and such, but you just love her anyway.

    I agree with Sarena

"You're bringing up times I can't recall And I'm sure they made your point But I just can't seem to remember yeah"

She just wants to argue and brings up all her points in an argument but he just can't understand her cuz he doesn't remember.

"I can't say I'm agreeing With your topic of conversation"

He just doesn't want to talk about negative things

"You're good at makin me feel so small"

She is trying to cut him down with her arguments.

So etc etc he loves her and thinks she's amazing but she just wants to argue.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
