Yeah-yeah, oh-oh, yeah
I've got it all, but I feel so deprived
I go up, I come down and I'm emptier inside
Tell me what is this thing that I feel like I'm missing
And why can't I let go

There's gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me
'Cause the more that I'm
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well it's life, but I'm sure, there's gotta be more
Than wanting more

I've got the time and I'm wasting it slowly
Here in this moment I'm half way out the door
Onto the next thing, I'm searching for something that's missing

There's gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me
'Cause the more that I'm
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well it's life, but I'm sure, there's gotta be more
I'm wanting more, oh oh yeah

I'm always waiting on something other than this
Why am I feelin' like there's something I missed? (Something I missed) Yeah

There's gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me
'Cause the more that I'm (more that I'm)
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well it's life, but I'm sure (ooh, yeah)

There's gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me (oh, yeah)
'Cause the more that I'm
Tripping out thinking there must be more to life
Well it's life, but I'm sure
(There's gotta be more to life) Oh
(More) More to (to), more to, (life) more to life
(There's gotta be more to life) More to, more to life
(More) More to (to), more to life, there's gotte be more
(There's gotta be more to life)
More to life

This song means that obviously there's more to life then what the world gives us. We can have everything here on earth and yet feel like there's still something out there that we need. We find ourselves looking in all directions to find what's missing in our lives. To me and a lot of other people. That one thing is Jesus Christ. Just think about it. :-) Shon

Pardon my language but I'm in a real crappy mood right now. Don't ever say there's more than God! He's more than anything!

I love this song, its really upbeat and has a great meaning to it... if ppl stopped to really think about it, there HAS got to be more to life than this. Most people don't think that they will find all the answers in Jesus Christ, but He is the ONLY one who wants to give u all u've ever wanted. please, please don't ignore that, coz He's just the greatest thing EVER!!!

in all the times i've listen to this song while i got the obvious statement that there is more to life.. i never once thought it had anything to do with god. there's more to life than god e_e I always got the impression that the song was about someone who was stuck in a rut in their life and thinking that there must be more out there than what they currently have but they can't seem to get at that and time just keeps to be passing as the person is thinking this.

It means that there's more to life than what everybody else does and has. You've gotta be yourself and trust God because there's more to life than the shit the world gives us and God is what that is. Mock me if you want but remember, I'm already a bitch and you talking about me will totally boost my ego and your ass will get kicked by someone like me!!!!

there's more to life then taking drugs & doing the same shit every single day. she's saying you don't have to get high in order to enjoy life, & even when she's high, she's thinking about how much more there is.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
