"Cherry Blossom Girl" as written by and Nicolas Godin Jean Benoit Dunckel-barbier....
I don't want to be shy
Can't stand it anymore
I just want to say 'Hi'
To the one I love
Cherry blossom girl

I feel sick all day long
From not being with you
I just want to go out
Ever night for a while
Cherry blossom girl

Tell me why can't it be true

I never talk to you
People say that I should
I can pray everyday
For the moment to come
Cherry blossom girl

I just want to be sure
When I will come to you
When the time will be gone
You will be by my side
Cherry Blossom Girl

Tell me why can't it be true

I'll never love again
Can I say that to you
Will you run away
If I try to be true
Cherry blossom girl

Cherry blossom girl
I'll always be there for you
That means no time to waste
Whenever there's a chance
Cherry blossom girl

Tell me why can't it be true

General CommentCherry blossoms only bloom for a week in the spring then they're gone. My interpretation of the song is that the girl is beautiful but is only there in the writer's life for a temporary time just like cherry blossoms.

General CommentI think the song is sexual but in a very unabrasive way, hence the girl is blossoming and therefore engaging in the aforementioned activity. It's a nice song.

General CommentWell, right now, I think that this is the best song I´ve ever heard. This is so beautiful, wonderful and very romantic song. Last night I just sat on my room in the dark listening this song...

General CommentThis is a cute song, a guy I like always calls me blossom so I'm especially fond of the lyrics. I agree with the interpretation of the cherry blossom being something fleeting but I think that the image was used because they are such sweet and beautiful flowers. I dunno, they are just small and delicate which I think is an adorable thing to compare a girl to. I know I like being compared to something so pretty :P

General CommentCherry Blossom is a type of tree. They are known to sprout these pretty little white flowers all over their branches in the springtime, which fall off and float around in the wind. They are especially prevalent in Japan and are featured in a lot of anime movies. This song definitely has a Japanese atmosphere, so the reference fits very well. By saying "Cherry Blossom Girl," they are creating an image of the girl with cherry blossom petals blowing in the wind all around her, much like you see in anime movies when they want to emphasize a girl's beauty. It has nothing to do with her wanting to become a woman, it is just a poetic device used to set the tone of the song (and very tastefully done I might add).

Even though this is sung by a woman, it was written by a guy who has this puppylove crush for this girl who runs away from him. "Cherry Blossom Girl" has a 2nd meaning in that the girl goes away just as a cherry blossom will blow away in the wind.

    Beautiful song.

General CommentI love this song. It's so pretty and lovely.. I'm listening to it now, actually. :D Here's my interpretation. Pretty similar to what other people are saying...

    "I don't want to be shy/
Can't stand it anymore" to me means he's obviously very shy, and doesn't like being shy. The reason for the slash in there is because it also corresponds with the next line...
"I just want to say 'Hi'" He's tried to say hello to her, but she just rejects him, or is skeptical about why he stutters and blushes so much around her.
"To the one I love" He feels like he's in love with her. I'd say that they're probably in high school...
"Cherry blossom girl" He thinks she's beautiful, gorgeous, and delicate. She probably has a pretty face and a "cuter" body to him, as opposed to "sexy," and he likes cute more.
"I feel sick all day long
From not being with you" He just wants to be with her, and feels bad for himself since he can't get his words straight. He's also trying to confess to her.
"I just want to go out
Ever night for a while" She is starting to reject him, so he's trying to cover his obsession with her by attempting to be more casual, and make it sound more like just dating, than the future he imagines with her.
"Cherry blossom girl" He calls her pretty to her face.
"Tell me why can't it be true" He wants to know why she won't love him back, or go out with him.
    "I never talk to you
People say that I should" He can't bring himself to talk to her again, but people are saying she's expressing interest.
    "I can pray everyday
For the moment to come" He expects she's going to talk to HIM this time, and he's praying for her to talk to him.
"Cherry blossom girl" He STILL thinks she's pretty, even though she didn't want to go out with him before.
"Tell me why can't it be true
Tell me why can't it be true" The first time corresponds with the next "Cherry Blossom Girl," where he's wondering why this pretty girl doesn't love him, the next corresponds to the second "Cherry Blossom Girl," where he is upset that she's with someone else and only seemed to like him temporarily.

"I'll never love again" He is so hurt that she's with someone else, presumable a good friend of his.
"Can I say that to you" He's upset with her, and wants her to know how much she's broken his heart.
"Will you run away" He is still mad at her, but he deep down still thinks of her as the beautiful, delicate flower he always pictured her as.
"If I try to be true" He wants to tell her he still loves her.
"Cherry blossom girl" He's gained his love for her again.

"I'll always be there for you" She is upset from no longer being in a relationship with so-and-so, so he offers his friendship to get close to her again, also in his head thinking he'll always love her.
"That means no time to waste
Whenever there's a chance" He'll spend all his time with her, and try to win her heart.
"Cherry blossom girl" He lets her know he thinks she's still pretty, and she distances herself from him because she thought it would just be a good friendship.
"Tell me why can't it be true" Even in the future, he still remembers her, and wonders what life would have been like if he really had been with her for longer.

Phew.. But, anywho. That's what I think, could be wrong, but whatever. *thumbs up* Nevertheless, it's a cute song, that can be taken as puppy love, or "true love."
