time for another video game analogy
she wins, flawless victory, fatality
eyes locked on the pretty girl of the party
insert my coins {lets get this party started right}

slide up to the girl with perfect timing
she smiles at somebody just behind me
mind locks when i go to say the perfect line {she passes me by} [denied]
let me try this all again

you've gotta be, an enemy
like Wario or Dr. Wiley
I'm learning from mistakes I've made each time I die
I'm fine, I'll retry
you've gotta be, an enemy
like Wario or Dr. Wiley
you're the princess and last boss at the same time {i've got shot down but i'll try again i've}
entered my code and now i've got 99 lives

I need [i need]
A strategy guide to get me [get me]
to the other side of this draw bridge [and pull it out from your feet]
i'll make you fall in love with me [timing is key]
i'll make you fall in love with me

you've gotta be, an enemy
like Wario or Dr. Wiley
I'm learning from mistakes I've made each time I die
I'm fine, I'll retry
you've gotta be, an enemy
like Wario or Dr. Wiley
you're the princess and last boss at the same time {i've got shot down but i'll try again i've}
entered my code and now i've got 99 lives

{up up down down left right left right b a select start}
now i'll play you all night
{up up down down left right left right b a select start}
now i'll play you all night
{up up down down left right left right b a select start}
now i'll play you all night
{up up down down left right left right b a select start}
now i'll play you all night

you've gotta be, an enemy
like Wario or Dr. Wiley
I'm learning from mistakes I've made each time I die
I'm fine, I'll retry
you've gotta be, an enemy
like Wario or Dr. Wiley
you're the princess and last boss at the same time {i've got shot down but i'll try again i've}
entered my code and now i've got 99 lives

    General CommentI think that it's cute because they're comparing love to a video game, it's simple but it's so cute at the same time. They have the cheating analogy (entered my code and now i've got 99 lives), the player analogy (up up down down left right left right b a select start), and how every time he gets shot down he figures it out from there. Cute.

    General CommentVery cute! So true @ the same time though. Love is a big video game. And people need to figure out there aren't any "cheats" that will get you anywhere.

    General CommentI dont think its about a relationship. I think its more of him seeing a girl at a party and he goes to pick her up & gets shot down but hes not giving up.

    General CommentIt's pretty straight forward. A guy is trying to get the attention of a girl at a party that (I'm assuming) he's been in love with fr some time, and the guy is obviously a geek (Hence the video game analogy) and he does the analogy in his head to help him go along with it, thinking it's all a game, that he has cheat codes for, so theres no way he can lose. Oh, and the up up down down left right left right B A select Start isn't refering to him as a player, it's the first cheat code ever created. It's from the NES game Contra, which gave the player 30 lives, but its refering in this song to giving the "Player" 99 lives.
