"Golden" as written by Yolanda Yvette Adams, Errol W. Jr. Mccalla and Marcus Ecby....
Watchin' a stretch of road,
Miles of light explode
Driftin' off a thing
I'd never done before
Watchin' a crowd roll in
Out go the lights it begins
A feelin' in my bones
I never felt before...

Mmm...people always told me
That bars are dark and lonely
And talk is often cheap
And filled with air
Sure, sometimes they thrill me
But nothin' could ever chill me
Like the way they make
The time just disappear

Feelin' you are here again
Hot on my skin again.
Feelin' good's a thing
I'd never known before
What does it mean to feel?
Millions of dreams come real
A feelin' in my soul
I'd never felt before...mmmm

And you always told me.
No matter how long it holds me
If it falls apart
Or makes us millonaires
You'll be right here forever
We'll go through this thing together
And on heaven's golden shore
We'll lay our heads

General CommentIt sounds like it's his first time out on a big tour.. and whether it's make-or-break, he's got a special someone who is going to love him no matter what happens.

General CommentTo me it is talking about life. Life is a road, there is a lot of light and hope ahead of you. You grow up and get older and the world gets smaller. You aren't alone anymore, but for some reason things just seem more bleak and depressing.
The middle of the song he realizes that everyone was right when they said life was hell, life is a prison, even though before he wouldn't admit it.
Suddenly he finds something to brighten his life again, a person. His world is lit up anew because of love.

General CommentI'm surprised this song has not been more exposed, it's one of the most touching, reflective songs i've ever heard, and on my top 100 of best songs of all time, which is a pretty damn hard list to break into.

General Commentoh and it's nothing like wanted dead or alive, if you want something to compare it to, think Neil Young's Harvest Moon or Heart of Gold.

General CommentMy God this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I'm happy to say the first time I had sex this song was playing.

It is love, it is beauty, it is that first time feeling. I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't heard this song. Hell, I remember where I was the first time I heard this song, it's that good. Musically, lyrically, presentation/performance-wise, it is stunning. I remember the golden sunlight breaking through the bright green trees, her golden hair, the first time I saw the sun...

General Commentjust like it was said before this song is beauty, everything about it is perfect for me to see it as one of the most touching songs i ever heard. singing along to it sometimes make my eyes water and forget about all other pain and problems. other songs are touching like this one from mmj to me, for example, where to begin, i will sing you songs, death is the easy way, the way that he sings, dondante, bermuda highway, steam engine, i will be there when you die, phone went west, come closer, how do you know, one in the same. thats just a fantastic set of beautiful songs to come from just one band. keep playing mmj, you have something special going on.
