"Left Out" as written by Brad Stewart, Jason Todd and Brent Smith....
Where's that space of fear you hide?
Have you gone way beyond the center
Out there in space
I know you need to get even
Tell me the one about the hand that holds you down
Because the bruise on your face, it always seems to stay around
And tell me the one about the hand that holds you down
Because you seem to be lost, with no intention to be found

[Chorus:]
So how does it feel
And how does it feel
To be the one whose always in the way
To be the words that never made the page
Be the one that's always
Left out in the rain

Tell me again about the spark that met the flame
And tell me again about the man who went insane
Is there a place within for redemption
Is there a voice inside with a decision
And if so when, and if so then, where's the conviction?

[Chorus]

I know that you need to get even
And I know it's for all the right reasons
And I, well I know that you're staring at the edge
And I, well I know that you need to get even

[Chorus]

General CommentIt seems to me like he's left out, obviously, and he doesn't really belong anywhere, yet he's okay with that.

"And tell me the one about the hand that holds you down
Because you seem to be lost, with no intention to be found..."

He's all alone, but he's fine with that, because he feels he's better on his own.

I feel like this ALL the time. Right about now is one of them. Like you thought you had some real good buddies and a girlfriend, everything's great...then it's gone, but you're alright, because you know you're fine without them.

General CommentI believe that this song is about being left out.
So, to make yourself better, you hurt others and put them down because people do it to you.

General CommentThis song is purely about being left out. Look at the name. It is about how bad it feals to be left out. Like in a group when there are 5 people and you are the one without a date. And then you do whatever you have to do to get back at them for that.

General CommentHe obviously feels like he's constantly in the way of others and like everything and anything that he ever says doesn't really matter to anyone. Basically, he is completely left out, hence the title. Also, I think that he's at the end of his rope and wants to get even.
