When you're left with only a bullet, I'll bring the trigger and a promise to pull it.
I'll be the end of everyone who's ever entered your life and taken pieces out of it.
I'll give you enough time to regain your composure
To reconstruct a heart that's torn apart from over-exposure.
I know forever isn't long enough to forget the faces and places that played out your tragedy.
Our memory defeats us all.

I've touched the stagnant water and muddy walls of the trench where you've been sleeping,
And there's nothing there worth keeping or believing.
So, on the eve of the attack, we'll finger-trace the targets on their backs and open fire.
Just hold on until they're gone.
So, with this kiss, I promise to never forget what you did for me.
I felt the sun on my face for the first time, and tasted blood on my tongue for the last.

This is one of the most romantic songs ever written, IMHO. What he is basically saying is he wants to go out, with his lover, and enact revenge on all of the people in her life that caused her pain. Let me elaborate...

...When you're left with only a bullet, I'll bring the trigger and a promise to pull it...I'll be the end of everyone who's ever entered your life and taken pieces out of it.....

His lover has been hurt and has been consumed by the pain in her life, and he intends to provide the antidote to her pain

...I'll give you enough time to regain your composure... to reconstruct a heart that's torn apart from over-exposure...

He's being gentle with her, calmy reassuring her that she's going to be okay, allowing her to mend her heart a bit before they go to do the "deed"

...I know forever isn't long enough to forget the faces and places that played out your tragedy...

This girl has been hurt SOOOO bad by people in her life, and he is aware that even the act of blowing them all away will not make up for the horrors they have inflicted upon her

...Our memory defeats us all. I've touched the stagnant water and muddy walls of the trench where you've been sleeping, and there's nothing there worth keeping or believing...

He has seen what this has done to her, and wants to assure her that she needs to let go of this pain and misery and move on (nothing left worth keeping or believing)

...So, on the eve of the attack, we'll finger-trace the targets on their backs and open fire. Just hold on until they're gone...

He is saying that, when the time comes, he will stand by her side, hunting down those who did her wrong, and revel in the moment of blowing them away with a high powered handgun with her

...So, with this kiss, I promise to never forget what you did for me. I felt the sun on my face for the first time, and tasted blood on my tongue for the last...

To me, these lines reassure the listener that the author is not just some psychopath who likes to kill people, but someone who truly loves this person. For the first time he feels like he has done something so special for someone, and this is the last time he will ever do it, it was all for her...

i'm probably off on this, but i think that the guy thinks he screwed up the girl's life. if she only has a bullet left, you can only shoot 1 person (unless you're some really good sniper or something) and yeah that's it.. i think.. i hope.. yeah. toodles.

yea i agree, he knows hes the reason she is miserable and he doesnt think she deserves it anymore. and this is hypothetically speaking but he loved her enough to let her kill him so he can die to end her suffering....

This is the only good and meaningful song on their CD, the rest of their songs just fly by hurriedly. I love the lyrics of this one. It reminds me a little of something written by Brand New. Sex music? Not really, maybe angsting music. :)

I really like her a lot and she just broke up with one of my best friends. this part is wut reminds me of her: When youre left with only a bullet, Ill bring a trigger and i promise to pull it Ill be the end of everyone whos ever entered your life, and taken pieces out of it. I'll give you enough time to regain your composure,to reconstruct a heart thats torn apart from overexposure I know forever isnt long enough to forget the faces and the places that played out your tragedy

I dunno.. i think its more like he's angry with this girl because she wronged him doing something involved with other people. and SHE feels bad and wants to end it- but he says he'd rather do it for her.

It's about someone who loves another person, let's say a guy to a girl to make it easier...break down: When you're left with only a bullet, I'll bring the trigger and a promise to pull it. I'll be the end of everyone who's ever entered your life and taken pieces out of it. Everything is breaking in her life and he'll be the thing to make it come back together, like the trigger to her gun and in another sense he'll do what a gun is supposed to do and destroy her pain and all of the people who cause it or make her forget it I'll give you enough time to regain your composure... to reconstruct a heart that's torn apart from over-exposure. I know forever isn't long enough to forget the faces and places that played out your tragedy. He knows it's a lot of pain for her to just drop so he's going to step back and let her ease back into having love in her life and while he knows that forever may not be long enough to forget everything everyone has ever done to her he hopes she'll not hold on to those pains and not allow him to show her real love because he knows he can Our memory defeats us all. I've touched the stagnant water and muddy walls of the trench where you've been sleeping, and there's nothing there worth keeping or believing. Her memory is what is keeping her from letting him in...she's holding on to her past and in that, not allowing him in. Stagnant water will make you sick and mud's just nasty and a trench is usually associated with loneyness and just being unwanted and that's where she's been and he doesn't want her to hold on to that. He wants her to let go of it and see him as a new prospect because "there's nothing there worth keeping..." So, on the eve of the attack, we'll finger-trace the targets on their backs and open fire. Just hold on until they're gone. He's going to be with her no matter what even if he has to make her past go away. In a metaphoric sense of course...anyway, he's using a "battle" type scene to emphasize his point because a battle is the most outright way to destroy something bad. They're going to hold on to each other until it's better for her (that's the only part i'm unclear about) So, with this kiss, I promise to never forget what you did for me. I felt the sun on my face for the first time, and tasted blood on my tongue for the last. ~~In helping her, he helped himself forget the pain of his past. it's used to show how they weren't meant for each other. The sun represents hope and new life and it's a first for him while the blood represents the pain and despair of his past. They've created a new beginning for each other. This song can be used for friendship or a lover or anything. That's why I love it so much. I'm going to see them the day after thanksgiving with Emery (another great band) yay! Hope this helped..feel free to disagree...i like it better when that happens

Whoops...in the last part of that I screwed up....."show how they weren't meant for each..." is meant to be "to show how they WERE meant for each other" sorry!

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
