"Pulse of the Maggots" as written by Nathan Jonas Jordison, Michael Shawn Crahan, Paul Dedrick Gray, Corey Todd Taylor, Sidney George Wilson, James Donald Root, Christopher Michael Fehn, Craig Alan Jones and Mickael Gordon...
This is the year where hope fails you
The test subjects run the experiment
And the bastard you know is the hero you hate
But cohesing, it's possible if we try
There's no reason, there's no lesson, no time like the present
Tell me right now, what have you got to lose?
What have you got to lose? Except your soul?
Who's with us?
I fight for the unconventional
My right, and it's unconditional
I can only be as real as I can
The disadvantage is, i never knew the plan
This isn't just a way to be a martyr
I can't walk alone any longer
I fight for the ones who can't fight
And if I lose, at least I tried!

(We) we are the new diabolic
(We) we are the bitter bucolic
If I have to give my life, you can have it
(We) we are the pulse of the maggots!

I won't be the inconsequential
I won't be the wasted potential
I can make it as severe as I can
Until you realize, you'll never take a stand
It isn't just a one sided version
We've dealt with a manic subversion
I won't let the truth be perverted
And I wont leave another victim deserted

(We) we are the new diabolic
(We) we are the bitter bucolic
If I have to give my life, you can have it
(We) we are the pulse of the maggots!

Do you understand? (yes)
Do you understand? (yes)
Do you understand? (yes)
Do you understand? (yes)

Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)

We fight 'till no one can fight us
We live and no one can stop us
We pull when we're pushed too far
And the advantage is, the bottom line is
We never had to fight in the first place
We only had spit back in their face
We won't walk alone any longer
What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger

(We) we are the new diabolic
(We) we are the bitter bucolic
If I have to give my life, you can have it
(We) we are the pulse of the maggots!

Do you understand (yes)
Do you understand (yes)
Do you understand (yes)
Do you understand (yes)

Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)
Say it again say it again (we wont die)

General CommentWell, if your all so sure that Slipknot are a bunch of screaming fags, then why aren't your perfect asses up there singing and bringing out perfect music?
I don't see you up there with a number one album.

General CommentWhether in Slipknot or Stone Sour, Corey seems to sing a lot about the sad state of this world, the atrocities, and the corrupt governments that cause these events. I think this song is about that as well. However, it's a call to people to realize that we actually have the power, but ONLY if we come together and realize that untapped power we have within us...and that it's time we stand up against these regimes and take the power back.

General Commentbasically, people who talk about Slipknot selling out because they have a top ten video, it just shows how much they understand about music

When you listen to the album, sure it's not as raw as their debut, but it's still fucking heavy

they didn't really ask to have "top ten songs" and it's not like they compltley changed their sound

when you read they're lyrics, their still the same, the riffs are still heavy, the drums still incredible, it's all there

just because it might sound a little less raw, you suddenly acuse them of selling out

just because they can finally afford some decent mixing

i'll admit, vol 3 is not my favourite album, but it's still damn good by any other bands standards, and if it was released by any other band it'd be considered their best

face it, your just bitter because suddenly the band you and only you used to love is now suddenly embraced by the media

man up and get over it

General CommentSlipknot is back! I love this song, its about standing up for each other, and not taking any shit off anyone, which is basically what Slipknot have been about since day 1.

General CommentThis song is alright. I think that Corey Taylor's voice might've weakened a little bit. Either that or he just decided to soften the screaming just a tad. But at the same time I think that he improved his voice because his articulation is a little better. The band as a whole pretty much improved as well. This isn't necessarily Slipknot's best work, but it's still not necessarily all that disappointing. Though I am hoping for a little more than this on the rest of the new album.

General CommentThis song is a great comaback and an even better introduction for their new album... can't wait to hear it...

Other than that I'd say this song is a good introduction song for a concert, the guitars and samples are amazing, Corey's voice is something new from them and it feels good... I'm a maggot...

General CommentCorey's has taken a different and refreshing vocal approach to this track, which I think is really cool.I must admit the shred solo's were disappointing, but at least they have fucking solo's.Apart from that, this is a really cool track, so lets hope the new album is the fucking bombshell we have been waiting for.
