"Rookie of the Year" as written by Gareth Davies, Matthew Davies, Ryan Richards, Kris Roberts and Darran Anthony Smith....
The promise that he made
Left broken on the floor
The bruise left round your heart
Left you begging for more

Thank you for making me
Worthless in your eyes
In hope and desperation
I'll find my only light
In your white wedding dress

Thank you for making this
The best day of my life
In hope and desperation
I'll find my only light

And in everything I've seen
I am open to everything
And time will, will take us all and
Drown us in it's wake
And clearly I will stay and wipe the blood from
Your white wedding dress

General Commenteveryone here without a clear understanding needs to acquire (download, steal, i dont care) a copy of certain boy sets fire songs. The actual name is a bastardisation of 2 songs: "Loser of the year award" and "Rookie". The song content is a continuation of a song off of their "Tomorrow Comes Today" album - its called "white wedding dress" - hence the refrain.
The last line of the song is:
"The fire will now wash away the blood on her white wedding dress". The song is about a bride to be who is abused by her husband. Cheery, eh?
anyway, for deeper undertsanding into the influences on this song, check out the above songs. and if you dont like them, ... you can **** right off. :):):)
im not criticising FFAF - i heart them. I just worry that you may here some BSF songs and complain that its rather similar to FFAF...

General CommentI think this song is firstly touching on violence in relationships. The opening 4 lines suggest that, and this girl kept going back to this person even though he kept mistreating her,but that was something that happened in the past with this person he is currently with. And he is basically telling the story from the time of the wedding day or something like that. And then you go into all the "THANK YOU...etc. etc."
So Matt is basically thanking this person for making him the only one that she wants, because he loves her so much. And I think the last 6 lines is basically a way of saying, I don't know what will happen between us in the future ("And in everything I've seen, I am open to everything"). And the other four lines are basically saying, death will do us part, but in that time I will stay with you and try take away all the pain you ever experienced or may experience in your life ("And clearly I will stay and wipe the blood from, Your white wedding dress")

FFAF song meanings can be so complicated sometimes, and mean something completely different to what the lyrics look like they're saying, so I may be completely wrong.

But that's the idea I get from this song

General Commentfor some reason, wedding vows come to my mind. for richer or poorer, through sickness and health, 'til death do us part. Perhaps an expansion on such vows is the basis of said song.

General Commentthis song is so emotional, matt davies really gets his feelings accross in his singing, and seeing Ffaf live was THE best gig i have ever been to.
to me this song is saying that marriage is be the end of many good relationships. its like being married doesn't guarantee a happy ever after ending. I think that Matt is talking about a relationship in which he knew he wasnt loved as much as he should have been, but he felt tied down for whatever reason, in the same way that marriage ties you down.
