Never again
I'll slit my throat with the knife I pulled out of my spine
Maybe when you find out that I'm dead
You'll realize what you did to me

And if my lungs still let me breathe
Would you be there for me?
If I can make myself believe
I'll give you back what you took away

No, I won't let it go
Douse myself in gasoline
So don't save me when you come into the fire
I'd rather die than have to see your smile

And if my lungs still let me breathe
Would you be there for me?
If I can make myself believe
I'll give you back what you took away

You made me swear
You made me swear
I, I can't sleep
Realize all these things that you took from me
Smash my heart (You made me swear)
Into dust (You made me swear)
Suffocate my mind (You made me swear)
Tear at me from inside (You made me swear)

Smash apart what you created
How can I ever stop you from crushing my soul?
It was, it was yours, yours to begin with

And if my lungs still let me breathe
Would you be there for me?
If I can make myself believe
I'll give you back what you took away

They need to record this song again. Shane's screams are so much better than they used to be. This song would kick so much ass if it got recorded again.

wtf early november...trust me silverstein isnt talking about religious matters in there songs. it wouldnt make any sense. "smash apart what you created how can i ever stop you from crushing my soul? " yea..that be a perfect thing to say when you pray to god. your ass would probably get struck by lightning

i gave this song to my ex after she told me she had a miscarriage and ran off to her ex just to find out about 8 months later that she was having the kid and saying she didn't know the father, so she could but it up for adoption and then had her friend call and tell me so i would know but not be able to stop her or get the kid...

only one post? admittedly its harder to comment on than coheed, but just look at the robot! this song's all for self-destruction due to heartbreak. this song swings a few ways too, one minute it's all like 'if i can make myself believe, i'll give you back what you took away' and hopeful before raging into 'no, i wont let it go douse myself in gasoline so don't save me when you come into the fire i'd rather die than have to see your smile'. classic.

reading the lyrics you can tell what its about (betrayal, heartbreak, death resulting etc) but i love the choice of words and all that. it makes it that much more powerful and strong. like instead of saying i'm going to kill myself cuz you stabbed me in the back, they say i'll slit my throat with the knife i pulled out of my spine brilliant. and earlynov...this song is obviously NOT about religion...where the hell did you get that from??

i agree with pumpkinqueen i think the lyrics and the song itself are really beautiful... i really love it

I also think it's about a relationship instead of something religious, I agree with the arguments of the others.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
