"Come Clean" as written by and John/dioguardi Shanks....
Let's go back
Back to the beginning
Back to when the earth, the sun, the stars all aligned

'Cause perfect didn't feel so perfect
Trying to fit a square into a circle
Was no lie
I defy

[Chorus]
Let the rain fall down
And wake my dreams
Let it wash away
My sanity
'Cause I wanna feel the thunder
I wanna scream
Let the rain fall down
I'm comimg clean, I'm coming clean

I'm shedding
Shedding every color
Trying to find a pigment of truth
Beneath my skin

'Cause different
Doesn't feel so different
And going out is better
Then always staying in
Feel the wind

[Chorus]

I'm coming clean
Let the rain fall
Let the rain fall
I'm coming clean

[Chorus]

Let's go back
Back to the beginning

General Commentif you dont like the person why are you wasting your time posting comments? everyone has different taste in music, the world would be very boring if we all liked the same shit. so i think all you people bagging out a teenage girl need a life.

General CommentWell, I wouldn't look up to her, but...
I wanted to see what people said about Duff's... art, and if someone said that they can "totally relate to her hard life." I find it kinda funny though, when people say that she means something in her songs, she can't really 'cause she didn't write them. I, personally, well, a whole bunch of people don't agree with me, but I don't like it at all when a person sings songs, but doesn't write them. it's not honest, and no one knows what they really sing. But then again, she's there for entertainment, not to bring out a good message. The people who write songs for her create her image, and they thought she most perfectly represented a girl who needs boys. Well, whatever, some people like it, so it's good she's there. But I jut don't see a way to look up to her and see her as a great model. My opinion though, if she's worthy for another person, it's just right.

General CommentI actually like this song, and my roommate gets kind of weirded out cos I'll be listening to Shai Hulud, NIN, NOFX, The Mars Volta, and then Hilary Duff. I just heard it one day on my bud's tv and really enjoyed it.

I'm not entirely sure what it's about. Some dudes on some forums I visit say it's about masturbation, I tend to think it's not.

General CommentThis song I would guess is about likeing or even loving a person and they leave you. She is sad and everything, but she is ready to be free of it all. She wants to go back to the time before she went with him. She was trying to be a good and perfect person with this guy, but it was all a lie and she is sad about it. She is going back to the girl she was before this guy and she is going back to her friends and the one's she left alone. Basicly she is getting her life back. She wants to feel alive again, but she isnt yet there.

General CommentWhen I first heard this song, I thought "Gee, perhaps this song is about the environment or something and how humans ruined the planet. Perhaps Hilary Duff *DOES* have some depth to her after all." Then I laughed. This was actually a fairly good song, by far the best on her pathetic album. Then the music video came out. And the whole world got to see how Hilary could take something good, and make it repulsive. If we recap, this is one of the very very few songs of hers that is not about a BOY. Then it became a music video about WAITING for a boy to come and save her from a storm. She is obsessed with boys. Here is her mind in a nutshell: Boys, boys, boys, hmmm let's throw in some shopping, more boys, really hot boys, wet boys saving me from a storm, ooh makeup, makeup, and boys. Yeah, real deep Duff.

General CommentI completelyagree with Nightcat889--well said. When I first heard it it was like wow decent unromantic song coming from Hilary Duff?? And then...I saw that video and it was her dressed prettily in a room full of pretty candles while waiting for pretty boy. I'm afraid her depth only seems to run this far
