Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die?
I wish that you didn't love me no more, I've been dead for years,
I wish that you didn't own me no more, I've been here before.
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die?
No I won't want to draw the blood from your neck, spill the lies in your bed.
I will give you a holy white rose, cut the tongue from your head.
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die on a rope?
Tell me something, tell me something, will I die, will I die?
I belong to a line of red scent, teach the heart to reflect.
the wound is wise for primal black eyes theres a scarlet letter in my chest.

no morons, she doesnt want to kill herself.

shes "No I wont" shes not going to die a rope..or have sex with it. You see didn't everyone wish her dead and want her gone after she broke up with timmy?

hence the "I wish you didnt love me no more"

also "the scarlet letter in my chest" is from a book called the scarelt letter in which the woman committed adultry and had a scarelet letter on her chest that let everyone know and ostrasize her

and when brody broke up with tim, alot of her former label mates and friends and the punk rock community alienated her like the woman in the scarlet letter...

I dunno.. I think shes too talented-a-writer to just blurt out things about death and suicide. Maybe 'die' is a reference to the Shakespearian use of 'to die' therefore meaning sex? But have sex with a rope is WRONG so wrong..

I dunno, I think she is too talented-a-writer to blurt out direct references to death and suicide - I think it would be concealed better in a metaphor or something. There's a possibility that 'die' could be a reference to the Elizabethan use of the term 'to die', therefore to have sex. But the rope? SO wrong to have sex with a rope, so very wrong.. so thats not right. The scarlet letter could be indiciative of an adulterous affair - brandishing a letter to illustrate cuckholding (I think it's 'A' but I don't remember). This goes with 'lies..' too. 'I wish you didn't love me no more' is double negative, so she does love him?

    Argh my brain!!

I think its about someone she loved dying, and she is saying her goodbyes. I will give you a holy white rose

I also think I am wrong, now that I have read more. Whatever

dying on a rope seems to suggest being lynched more than a self-inflicted suicide... and the scarlett letter is also something brandished publicly in judgment of some wrong-doing- possibly adultery, like amydillo suggested. maybe she's referring to how so many people turned against her and called her a bitch for leaving Tim? maybe the 3rd and 4th line are about why she felt she had to leave him, how she felt trapped in the relationship?

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
