The night sky is a healer
Every time you look up at Her and relax into her eyes
You see what you need to see
That might be
That you're part of a story that is much larger than you can comprehend
And whatever you're facing is so much smaller in comparison
Sitting under the stars
Contemplatin what's happenin out there far
Often times bein human is so bizarre
How She constantly keep me with open jaw
I know there's more I can't say is that all you got
I love it give it to me by the bundle
We come from the abundance that's the reason I compose this art
Without a fear that there will be no more to come through
I felt the empty stomach and still recognized I wasn't starved
I have food to eat that most don't know any about
When my roots go deep I post and then spread all around
The solution to our woes is rememberin how
To make a winnin hand even when we got bummy cards
Bein uninvolved is not how you become evolved
Just become the cause of feelin like the Sun and stars
Use the tongue as wand and you can bring in what you want
But everything you really need already tucked in palm
I have seen it
That's the reason I keep leadin like a dreamer
I woke up and I noticed how the roses were much sweeter
When I took the time to greet em
Reflectin the lights we see in the skyline in the evening
The skyline in the evening
The skyline in the evening
See it and you achieve it
If there's pain inside your heart then I hope my art can relieve it
We were made to know of God in the parts of it we perceivin
I don't aim a loaded arm I just a drop a bomb when I'm speakin
It's bout time we know why we breathin
The era to sit and watch is now over so let your feet hit
The moment is always fleetin
Soon as we try to grip it it breaks all the laws of physics to pass through parts in our fingers
When InSpiration gets spread through the land
More hearts are gonna weigh next to a feather again
If you thought it in your head it's like you said a command
I won't say I can't I'll say I'll do the best that I can
That's the secret
Not foolin yourself, but recognizin that it's possible
You can excel, don't undermine what you were brought here through
fools get repelled, when tongue aliginin with the walk you choose
You will prevail, that's somethin I'm knowin for sure that's true
I have seen it
That's the reason I keep leadin like a dreamer
I woke up and I noticed how the roses were much sweeter
When I took the time to greet em
Reflectin the lights we see in the skyline in the evening
The skyline in the evening
The skyline in the evening

This has to be the best song on the album, by far. A very powerful song about a person's enlightenment in comparison to others around him or her that although the world seems shitty... there is hope in the literal and metaphorical sky. The part where he states: "long may you run" is so true in how everyone has to deal with their problems, yet there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel.

Yeah, this song got me hooked on them a year or so ago. The vocals and riffs just fit perfectly together, and Sahaj's voice is so powerful, it truly is a beautiful song! Helped me through some tough times too...

Revalation seems to have the point of the song down pretty good. The instrumentals on this song are pretty kick-ass to. The mix of distortion and acoustics really catches you. Really powerful vocals. and the line 'Poor is the man/that believes his own lies' is the best. Best song on the album.

This song's main riff is a total rip off of Tool's Eulogy. They just play it on a seven string. It follows the exact same progression and rhythm. Listen to Eulogy, you'll hear it. Sorry, but it pisses me off when bands rip other bands off. This is total crap

    Song Meaning

Once again, following my belief that the best songs are the ones that you can interpret in your own way, I toss a couple of pennies in the pot.

When I first heard RA's Only One album, I absolutely loved the different style they brought to the table. Then I heard Sky. A that time, I was really struggling with my own personal identity, and where I should fall into the fold of society. The simple message that I took was that "I can't believe in things that are unseen, unlikely, or unproven; so I'll believe in something that I know is there. I'll look to the sun."

I KNOW THE SUN IS THERE FOR ME. I can see it and I can feel it. Everyone else can see it's there also. There's no denying it, and no need to fight over it. It brings life and it keeps me warm. Why should I ever have to look elsewhere?

I agree with Elder. Right now I'm still discovering who I am, and I feel torn, moving from highschool to college, feeling like nothing is the same. This song gives me comfort. It tells me that everything will be ok, I'm not "the only one". All I have to do is "believe the sun."

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
