"Skin and Atmosphere" as written by Steven Holt, Brock Lindow, Thomas Noonan and Mick Whitney....
Think I'll rename my heart, the calendar.
'Cause it'll surely know just when to end.
And I've been looking at you through the telephone,
As the photograph whispers that she isn't even home.
So alone, I bleed myself right in.
Unusual here breathing, inviting the silence.

But you're not here,
You're nowhere near at all.
Just skin and atmosphere.
And if it's not what you wanted,
Better get out now.
Alone it takes me,
Underneath it'll surely break me.
Underneath these things.

Twenty some years my parents let themselves leave.
I always swore that would never, ever be me.
And now you're looking at me through a new lens,
Your voice on the end doesn't understand anything, nor do I.
Paper cuts for me.

Prove me wrong, I want you to prove me wrong.

General CommentBrock is jez like Mr. Daryll Palumbo in the way he writes, its so confusing, yet has so much meaning. They're both FUCKING MASTERMINDS, and both bands are 2 of the greatest ever. As for the song, he's obviously talking about a female in his life, and her not being there. Whether it be a girlfriend or friend "And I've been looking at you through the telephone,
as the photograph whispers that she isn't even home..." To me it seems hes trying to reach out to someone, and all he has is silence, and his thoughts of them. or perhaps it is his mother to whom he's writing about (these are the correct 2nd verse lyrics by the way: "Twenty some years my parents let themselves leave.
I always thought that would never, ever be me.
And now you're looking at me through a new lens,
your voice on the end doesn't understand anything, nor do I." He mite be talking about his mother because of those words, and how he feels abandoned by her, and how she doesnt understand him for him, and he doesnt understand why. I dunno, but whoever the song is about, its fucking amazing. GO OUT AND BUY BOTH "A SNOW CAPPED ROMANCE" and "BITTERNESS THE STAR"!!!!!! 36 Crazyfists shall own you.......

General CommentI dont care if this song does sound more emo than much of their last album its still the best song on "ASCR".

Just listen to Brocks voice in the last chorus and how its just so emotional.
