Another day in the hurt
Another grope in the search
Another shove with a smirk
Once more treading, running, pleading, pushing onto
Another bridge through the mist
Another hole in the midst
Another edge to the cliff
With her soft, sweet, subtle final kiss

Say, say, say what you will
So sorry
I will never be confined to follow you
So sorry
So you can say, say, say what you will
So sorry
Despite your offer there is nothing in you for me

Another stab in the dark, yeah
Another stake through the heart, yeah
Another plea to depart
Now I'm reaching forward, racing to her arms
And with a cruel embrace, yeah
Another end to the chase, yeah
Another falling from grace
Into cunning, cold, crafty web of lace

Say, say, say what you will
So sorry
I will never be confined to follow you
So sorry
So you can say, say, say what you will
So sorry
Despite your offer there is nothing in you for me

Sink in her wine
Why would I want anyone else?
She took from me
My everything
My everything

Oh!

So sorry, so sorry, so sorry for all this
So sorry, so sorry, so sorry for all of this
I wish that things could have been so very different for us
I wish that you could have been, I wish that you could have been,
I wish that you could have been my everything
So sorry
So long
It's been so real

General CommentI think this song uses the relationship with a girl to help us visualize the trend that he goes through. Underneath the metaphor is his relationship with Satan: "I will never be confined to follow you...so you can say, say, say what you will...Despite your offer there is nothing in you for me"
    Just some thoughts.

General CommentHe is talking about being in a relationship with a girl who he knows is not right for him, but is still wanting her at the same time. But in the end he realizes how badly she treated him and that she has nothing to offer him and It's time to go.

General CommentMaybe more than one relationship? "Another end to the chase, yeah / Another falling from grace / Into cunning, cold, crafty web of lace." I think he's frame shifting between a specific relationship and the pattern of his relationships in general. But who knows. We see what we want.

General Commentit's not about a relationship with God. if i'm not mistaken, it's about a girl named Brook Whelan with whom he fell head-over-heels for. it is andrew mourning for the relationship with this girl that never was.
if you've ever been in love and it just didn't work out, then you really don't know what that kind of pain feels like. it's one thing to break up with someone, it's something competely different to have something wonderful that you want dangled before your eyes and you know you can reach it but you choose not to out of fear of rejection and/or disappointment.
it's like drowning: you watch your own life slowly fade away as you sink deeper and deeper and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. or like trying to catch a bird and it just flies away. you're now watching it soar over your head and into the horizon, totally helpess, because once it's gone, it's gone.

    that's my poetic theory.
okay, so i'm a bit poetic. i'm a girl for crying out loud...

    Who knew....
Bu seriously, where did you get the idea about the Brook Whelan? Is that in one of Andrew's books?

General CommentWell considering I am chasing a girl I know isn't right for me, but yet I still chase after her I am now in the process of losing her. Right now I'm fine with it, but before I was so attached to her for whatever reasons, and that was pulling me away from God. So with this song I believe they have elements of both arguments displayed here, staying out of a relationship that isn't right for you so you can focus on God and not whoever.
