"Humble Me" as written by and Kevin Breit....
Went out on a limb
Gone too far
I broke down at the side of the road
Stranded at the outskirts and sun's creepin' up

Baby's in the backseat
Still fast asleep
Dreamin' of better days
I don't want to call you but you're all I have to turn to

What do you say
When it's all gone away
Baby I didn't mean to hurt you
The truth spoke in whispers will tear you apart
No matter how hard you resist it
It never rains when you want it to

You humble me lord
Humble me lord
I'm on my knees empty
You humble me lord
You humble me lord
So please please please forgive me

Baby teresa, she's got your eyes
I see you all the time
When she asks about her daddy
I never know what to say

Heard you kicked the bottle
And helped to build the church
You carry an honest wage
Is it true you have someone keeping you company

What do you say
When it's all gone away
Baby I didn't mean to hurt you
Truth spoke in whispers will tear you apart
No matter how hard you resist it
It never rains when you want it to

You humble me lord
Humble me lord
I'm on my knees empty
You humble me lord
You humble me lord
So please please forgive me

You humble me

General CommentThe weird thing is, even though the lyrics are "You humble me lord" I never once connected this to god. I still don't. I still think the person who humbles her is the father of her baby.

General CommentI love this song. I feel like she is singing to her ex partner.......... since she is singing in despair of hopelessness and loneliness....

General CommentI cannot believe that no one has commented on this beautiful, simple song. It is about a single mother who has no one to turn to. She is at rock bottom, and she is humbled.

General CommentWhat a beautiful song... its wonderful. i love that it's so true... most people when they hit rock bottom thats when they turn to the Lord... she's asking for forgiveness and she wants to be humble. it's amazing. i love norah. this song is lyrically and musically beautiful. i love listening to it over and over to try to collect as much of it as I can. :-D

General CommentThis song has a lot of religious message in it - However, I don't think Norah herself is really religious, so it's hard to say. I think she (The character) is calling out to God, and maybe also her ex-partner.
