in the closest alley
in the first doorway
he pushed up against her
and closed his eyes
he said, this is probably
the worst decision that i've ever made
she laughed and smiled
she said, i'm sure you do this all the time, right, right, right, right, right?
and the morning came
and the city woke
into the buildings
people all went to work
as their rides out of town came
they parted ways
she said, do you know when you're coming back again?
dig it deeper, deeper and farther still
bury it up and over and into the ground
all these lies will grow in ways
that we never thought possible
quiet down, down, down
so soft of a sound
you can hear it all come back after you
now you want to take it back
you think you might have fucked up
waking dreams of concrete
deafening panic, cracked skull
there is yelling all around
get up, get up, please start breathing
and the moment will come when you finally realize
the results of decisions and choices in your life
can you hear it all come back after you?
going down, down, down
so soft of a sound
you can hear it all come back after you

General CommentIt sounds like it's about a guy hooking up with a random girl, he was about to leave the next morning when she stopped him and asked if he was ever coming back. That's when he got mad enough to kill her.

I dunno, that's how it sounds to me, anyway.

Song Meaning I've got to slightly disagree with you all. I think it's actually a pretty straight-forward song. One night a guy meets a girl in a bar. He knows that a one night stand is a mistake. The next morning they both have to head out of town. He doesn't want it to go any further, but she wants to see him again. When she persists he pushes her away. She hits her head on the concrete and dies in front of all the other people on their way to work. Everyone around is yelling "get up, get up, please start breathing."

General CommentThis is the most kickass song by 'gainst Me! 'cept maybe anarcho punx. I have the acoustic version off the 7" Cavalier Eternal vinyl, and it kicks arse. It be aboot, simply, how you can make some pretty fucked up choices without thinking them through, and then the consequences can haunt you.

General CommentI am not positive of the meaning of this song... but my brother suggested that it's about a guy killing his girlfriend.

General CommentI also think that the guy in the song spent a night with a girl and then killed her. The line "get up, get up, please start breathing" really shows his desperation and regret over what happened.

General Commentits about regretting things that youve done and bad decisions. but i dont think he killed anyone, i think he killed himself because of the regret:

now you want to take it back
you think you might have fucked up
    waking dreams of concrete
    deafening panic, cracked skull
    there is yelling all around
get up, get up, please start breathing

sounds like a suicide by jumping out of a building.

General Commenti think its a reflection on all the fucked up things hes done on drugs....like hooking up with a girl and getting on drugs... then her having an o.d.

General CommentI'm fairly sure the second verse isn't meant to be taken literally anyways, despite the content.
