One mind divided into three, for every problem a personality
Each one trying to protect, for the crisis a person they'll select
With sorrow comes reassurance, with confusion there's ignorance

Deny who they are, a fantasy gone gone too far

Protecting the weak points of the mind
Defensive personalities
Violent one minute calm the next
Defensive Personalities

[Solos: Shuldiner, Murphy]

Passed down from generations, years of pain and complication
Darkness was a punishment, memories time cannot mend
Brutalised from the day of birth, to reality they can't return

Existing in a world of three lives inside of one

Protecting the weak points of the mind
Defensive personalities
Violent one minute calm the next
Defensive Personalities

General Commentit is about a person with multiple personalities most likely caused by some sort of abuse as described by the lines "Darkness was a punishment, memories time cannot mend /Brutalised from the day of birth, to reality they can't return"

General CommentProbably has to do with having split personalities. OR it could, as someone above said, have to do with the Holy Trinity. As we seen on the album "Symbolic", Chuck wrote the song "Crystal Mountain" about frustrations with Christianity. Perhaps this was also frustrations with Christianity. Chuck was Jewish, and didn't adhere to the New Testament, only the Torah.

Could have something to do with the Trinity, and how christianity tries to be the answer to everything.

General CommentThis song is about an anarchic slipper who decides to visit Claire's Accesories. He buys a little pink handbag which he parades around with outside a sushi shop. Unfortunately a frog emerges from the handbag and nestles inside the slipper. This is a mutual relationship as the frog gains a warm place to sleep and the slipper gains a frog. And they all lived happily ever after untill they were caught up in the atomic bomb in Hiroshima.
