Always blocking the doors to your mind
Escaping the reality that surrounds you
Using faith as an excuse to kill
A sick way of life is now revealed

All the prayers in the world can't help you now
A killer a take of life is what you are

Preach the good word
Speak no more, perpare to burn
A justified torture?
From this may others learn
The life you took a holy death, a grave mistake
No changing your mind, your life you should pay

Practice what you preach
Your loved one is now deceased
Knowledge is at our hands
Never to understand

Spiritual healing

[Solos: Shuldiner, Murphy]

Blinded by the twisted ways you live
Kill for religion, will the Lord forgive?
Idiocy has stricken you mind
A real-life hell you will find

General CommentExcellent song from an excellent album. Chuck sings of hypocrisy in the church, for the sake of clarity: simony. The subject of the song uses his position in the church (minister) for his own self benefit despite the very teachings of Christianity. "Preach the good word
Speak no more, prepare to burn" signifies the man's eternal punishment, on earth and in hell, for his vile acts of simony.

General CommentIt is about people who commit terrible acts in the name of god (any god).

General CommentActually it's really about spiritual healers giving sick patients false hope in their 'alternative medicine' when the faith healers know that they don't actually possess the power to heal. Which is generally all faith healers.

This album came out after James Randi exposed Peter Popoff as a fraud on TV.

General Commentits simply about narrow-minded religious people who wage wars against other religions just because they don't believe the same thing. this song also makes clear that religion is hypocritical since it preaches that no one should kill, yet religion itself is the cause for most of the wars that plague our world.
