there was no cameras bought for pictures
to hold all the small details
we left them all behind, we left them all behind
there was a place for
there was a time for
we arrive to leave again
there is no point in a keepsake
when you run from collections
i know one day there will be a book
or a song line to remind me
how much it meant to be hungy, exhausted and alone
direction is a point
direction is a purpose
destination is a reason to live
o, the sun fades
this could be any day
this could be any year
this could be any stage
this could be any city
all that matters is we are moving on
the roadside graveyards pass
and we escape, we escape, we escape, we escape repeating
and its construction of a nation
building up destruction of a nation
tearing down to build again
oww, oww, trailing taillights
like the ghosts of the last
to escape those past
en route to arrival
were never going home

General CommentMy favourite against me song. I think its about how you can never stop, never look back. You have to always be changing and evolving. You have to keep everything fresh. Maybe it's directed at fans getting mad at them for changing their sound. "we escape, we escape, we escape, we escape repeating".

General CommentThe camera not brought for pictures are the specific memories that don't need to keep being looked back to. Instead, keep looking forward, and don't look over your shoudler to the past. Things keep changing and are not ocnfined or limitted ("we arrive to leave again"). Keep going with a destination, a purpose to live, because that is enough. Change can happen at anytiem or any place, but you cannot let it get in your way and make you falter from your path. Teh repetition of "we escape" seems to idnicate gertting out of a pothole in the road, so to sspeak, or a confinign palce that doesn't let you move on. "Trailing taillights" indicates moving forward, naturally, following something, most likely their path or set course, leaving past those places they were at before (to escape those past en route to arrival). "We're never going home"--pretty self-explanitory. Lovely song, the best to get someone into the style of this album.
