I know I can be a little stubborn sometimes
A little righteous and too proud
I just want to find a way to compromise
Cause I believe that we can work things out

I thought I had all the answers never giving in
But baby since you've gone I admit that I was wrong

All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How my going to be strong without you I need you by my side you
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye
Don't know what I'd do? I'm lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you

How my ever gonna get rid of these blues
Baby I'm so lonely all the time
Everywhere I go I get so confused
You're the only thing that's on my mind

Oh my beds so cold at night and I miss you more each day
Only you can make it right no I'm not too proud to say

All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How my going to be strong without you I need you by my side you
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what
I'd do? I'm lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you

If I could only hold you now and make the pain just go away
Can't stop the tears from running down my face
Oh

All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How my going to be strong without you I need you by my side you
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what
I'd do? I'm lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you

a somewhat sad song about breaking up and hoping to be together. And i don't think the song's annoying at all!

The song describes how compromising is the key to a successful relationship as being "righteous and too proud" and "never giving in" makes the other person in the relationship constantly being pushed down by a strong character and sooner or later this person will get bored and not want to be with someone who doesn't know how to balance out the power.

The speaker realises that if she just put a little more into what they had and prehaps let her beau have his way a bit more then the relationship wouldn't have ended.

This song is right in the context that you never realise how much you need something until it's gone and then you consequently become lost and try desperately to "work things out".

Just like the Yingyang theory, a man and a woman need each other to complete one another and like the chorus of this song, in the end you are much stronger when you are complete as oppossed to when you are alone.

All anyone ever wants in life is a second chance especially after realising your own faults in a relationship and willing to rectify them.

This was the first Delta song I ever heard- and I got hooked. My sister moved away recently and its kind of our song. Haha :) Basically, this girl lost her guy and she doesn't know what she's going to do without him.

I like this song a lot, but no matter how hard i try, i can never reach the notes in the chorus. My voice just doesn't agree with this song! Anyway, it's about losing someone you love and feeling that pain you feel at first. It's a nice song, with a nice feel to it...well, apart from all the heart ache going on in it of course but that's not a bad thing. Delta has a nice voice which can get annoying but it's OK in small doses. I love the way she uses the piano in every almost song she has. Her album 'Innocent Eyes' is a lot deeper than her 'rivals' Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia and Holly Valance. She's a talented girl.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
