You sit there on the couch
Sipping your scotch and ice
You turn the t.v. on
And tune me out again

So what would you say to me
If you could talk to me
You could ask anything
I wouldn't mind
But you're okay with this
Damaging awkwardness
So I'll just play it safe
And keep it inside

Boys don't cry

I used to hold your hand
Sometimes there was no question
But now even when you're near
I've never felt so alone

So what would you say to me
If you could talk to me
You could ask anything
I wouldn't mind
But you're okay with this
Damaging awkwardness
So I'll just play it safe
And keep it inside

Boys don't cry
Boys don't cry
Boys don't cry
Boys don't cry

If you'll just stand beside me
I'll keep you in my life
Tell me how much you love me
And I'll be just fine

Don't be
Afraid of me

So what would you say to me
If you could talk to me
You could ask anything
I wouldn't mind
But you're okay with this
Damaging awkwardness
So I'll just play it safe
And keep it inside

Boys don't cry
Boys don't cry

    i kno, makingmemoriesofus!!!!

i've never been in a situation liek this, but i think it may be her voice!! it's so beautiful and sad, like a beautiful mistake!!

it proves the hidden insensitivity in guys (o offense guys..) i once read soemwhere, boys are like ziploc bags, they hold everything in, but girls can see right thru them!!!"

my friends is having problems w/ a guy like this, except she can't see thru him. it's REALLY frustrating, cuz he's all she wants, but can't have because he won't open up (what a loser (guy of course)).

in fact i should send her this song!! lol!

To me, this song is sung from the perspective of a young boy who wants desperately to have a deeper relationship with his father, but who feels that those desires aren't reciprocated. He doesn't tell his father how he really feels because expressing his emotions is looked down upon. He keeps all of his feelings locked up inside, but he wants desperately to let them out. He just fears rejection from his father, so he doesn't...

I agree with all of you guys that this song is sad. As I see it, the song hides something painful and wants to be liberated.

I think this song is about a cheating wife, a distant husband. I don't know who's to blame but blaming isn't gonna solve anything.

It's either the husband first became distant and then the wife cheated or the wife cheated first then the husband became distant.

I think each of us interprets a song either literally or breaking its shell to get into it and diverse interpretations of a song is really great. However, most interpretations are, I may say it, basically what we see, hear or know of from people, stories and most of it are from the media (TV dramas, movies).

To add, I see the song as two people, or characters talking, not to each other but wanting to talk to each other so the persona talked to itself.

    My Interpretation

I think this song is about being ignored by your parents and not feeling wanted. But I think it also extends to the family not really co-operating or helping each other with problems like they should. "Boys don't cry" could I guess extend to boys and girls, your parents don't want you to cry and have to help you deal with your emotional pain.

You turn the TV on And tune me out again

Is a really good line, saying how families tend to sit and watch TV instead of really communicating and enjoying their time together.

But you're okay with this Damaging awkwardness So I'll just play it safe And keep it inside

Conveys the suffering of having to keep everything bottled up inside, unfortunetly I can relate to this very well.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
