He watches her while she is sleeping
He wonders if he could watch her forever
He wants to know every secret she keeps
He wants to know what it is that keeps them together
He doesn't know what is real anymore
He tries to read the reflections from her eyes
He never stopped to think about love and direction
He only took the truth from his paranoid lies

Sometimes the beauty starts to die
When it's over
Torture yourself by asking why
But it's over

She watches him as he is leaving
She waits all night till he comes home
She fabricates another reason to stay
She's always so afraid of being alone
She doesn't know what is real anymore
She tries to read the reflections from his eyes
She never stopped to think about love and direction
She only took the truth from her paranoid lies

Sometimes the beauty starts to die
When it's over
Torture yourself by asking why
But it's over

Incredible song. Sounds like it's about a couple who really should seperate but they both want to hold on to something that isn't as it was before.

To me it sounds like a controlling boyfriend. "He watches her while she's sleeping" "He wants to know every secret she keeps" he assumes she wants to leave so he tries to contr things by trying to make her stay. He lets it get the best of him and he begins to be kinda mean to her. "She watches him while he's leaving" he's going to work, and she imagines losing him and don't want to leave him cause she loves him, but something about him has changed. "She fabricates another reason to stay." She tries to think of reasons why leaving would be a bad idea. Then she tries and tries to find the hood but can't as he gets more paranoid, she starts to get paranoid about him leaving. What if one another was cheating. They both get suspicions of each other. They know it won't last. But they try to pretend like it will. "Sometimes the beauty starts to die when it's over" the relationship is over and now the beauty is starting to die. The affection is fading, the beauty, the love, the closeness. "Torture yourself by asking why, but it's over." They keep asking themselves why it's not working out. They start to blame themselves but don't know who did the wrong. Really it's just a love ruined by suspicion, or cheating. They can't find there love anymore so before the break up. It's over. Before it's offically over. They know it's over.

That's what I think... I know it's about a break up. There music really does paint a picture for you <3 TBM

WOW. Another great TBM song. I'm starting to really like them. So yeah, basically this song is just about a couple and having no trust in a relationship and they should leave each other, yet they stay together.

" He watches her while she is sleeping He wonders if he could watch her forever"

every guy i think, has been in this position

to me it's like the guy is the one that has no trust within her lol

"He wants to know every secret she keeps He wants to know what it is that keeps them together He doesn't know what is real anymore "

he feel's he's being lied to , perhap's he feel's she's cheated on him?,or going behind his back about thing's.and the more he think's about it the more paranoid he get's causing his to not know what is real anymore is it truth? is his paranoiad dillusions? He doesn't know wha tkeep's them together it's as if by him feeling she is lying to him and him not having any trust he doesnt feel the same as he did and doesnt think they should be together.

"She fabricates another reason to stay She's always so afraid of being alone"

to me this is her always coming up with some excuse as not to leave being of her fear of being alone, feeling that if she doesnt take this chance although she doesnt really want it ,she may never have this oppourtunity again to be with him, and of course he is feeling the same way,Both caught up in Paranoid thought's about wha tthe other one is doing behind each other's back's lack of trust perhap's this could have been solved by better communication between the two? lol

"He/She tries to read the reflections from his/her eyes He/She never stopped to think about love and direction He/She only took the truth from his/her paranoid lies"

They tried to read the reflection's in each other's eye's,it's like you can always tell what someone is feeling perhaps what they are thinking just by the way they look at you.Depending on how well you know the person i suppose nevertheless this got the couple nowhere they never stopped to think about love and direction..to me that's like they didn't stop and take time to appreciate one another to really Love each other. and Taking the truth from paranoid lies is like ..as they are questioning these thing's about one another they start to feel it's really happening thus in their mind making it a reality.

"Sometimes the beauty starts to die When it's over Torture yourself by asking why But it's over"

when you know it's over beauty does start to die feeling's weaken thus making it a little easier to part, yet you allways seem to end up asking yourself why only to worry yourself about it and making matter's worse

"but it's over" - exactly it's OVER so why ask yourself why? hmm?

to me, this song is a simple story about a relationship where the love died- but no one wants to admit it. or maybe they were never really in love? either way, they're not completely open with each other, which seems to be the heart of the problem.

because of that, they can't confront the issues and get them over with. as a result, they continue to live together, as though still in love, when really both of them are silently questioning why they're even together still.

i just realized i pretty much agreed with everyone else. yaay anyway, this song is awesome. it's one of my favorites by TBM.

This is my favorite song atm. I love tbm's sound, it really grabs you and paints a picture in your head.. it seems to basically be about distrust and paranoia in a relationship and a reluctance to accept it's Over. ..heh

They're both convincing themselves that one another is cheating in their relationship. They're questioning themselves, and believing their paranoid lies. Also, the lines "Sometimes the beauty starts to die", they're attraction they once had for each other is now fading. What they see of each other is not what it used to be. Perhaps the boy saw her as beautiful, but now that he thinks she is unfaithful, he sees her as ugly, the same goes for the girl.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
