"Times Like These" as written by Nate Mendel, Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett....
I, I'm a one way motorway
I'm the one that drives away
Then follows you back home
I, I'm a street light shining
I'm a wild light blinding bright
Burning off alone

It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again

I, I'm a new day rising
I'm a brand new sky
To hang the stars upon tonight
I am a little divided
Do I stay or run away
And leave it all behind?

It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again

It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again

It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again

It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again

My InterpretationThis is just my personal interpretation...

i think each 3 line portion is dedicated to a life situation. for me it reminds me of a relationship i was in for over 3 years. it had a very very harsh ending, and afterwards i found myself lost and trying to find myself(relates to first half of verse 1). eventually, I evolved into the person i am today. a strong, confident, intelligent individual... who can't seem to commit to anyone.(2nd half of first verse).

The chorus is kind of a progression of what you go through when you feel yourself really devastated.

first, you have to come to grips with yourself and learn to live through your daily routine again. the basics. then, you learn to have faith and trust in others(give). Last, you learn to open up and love again.

Second verse is the part of my life i find myself at right now...

New day rising refers to a new girl who enters my life. Lots of high hopes, leading to the second part of the verse. should i stay or run away, and leave it all behind...

on a personal level, i'm still trying to learn how to love again.. I do however have the 2nd verse set as a ringtone for any girl i start talking to because of this...

Song MeaningThe lyrics discuss how Dave Grohl felt "like I wasn't entirely myself" during the three-month hiatus the Foo Fighters entered following the tense and unsatisfying first recording sessions for One by One, as well as his uncertaintity about the future of the band.[2][3] The lyric "I'm a new day rising" is a reference to the album New Day Rising by Hüsker Dü, one of Grohl's favorite groups.

General CommentYou're f-ing kidding me. I thought there would be more posts on this that Everlong, but apparently not. I guess no one's heard the acoustic version.

Its just the whole wheel idea, life sucks, you move on, and you're constantly learning, giving, taking, loving, etc..

The studio version of this one will get stuck in my head pretty quick because it goes into 7/4 and the dissanence in the choard is so striking. But still, the acoustic version of this is loads more emotional, gripping, and just plain better. :)

General CommentI thought this was about the fact that we make mistakes and these make us more than our successes- time and time again...

General CommentI think this song is about re-commiting yourself to a relationship. My guess is that the relationship got dull at some point and they are trying to get some flavor back to it. He loves her but wonders if he should give it up to find that fire of love again.
    I, I'm a little divided
Should I stay or run away
    Leave it all behind
But its times like these....blah blah blah, Hes saying he has to make a decision but this is what lifes about. This is as U2 would say, the 'mysterious distance between a man and a woman'. Great song, reminds me of someone.

General CommentWe are all going one way, cant turn back, cant pull the past back. So you just need to get the basics right to keep moving forward, live, give and love.

"It's times like these time and time again"
You make this dicision over and over again.
    "I, I'm a little divided
Should I stay or run away
    Leave it all behind"

    Where it belongs.
