"Light My Way" as written by Chris Cornell, Brad Wilk, Tim Commerford and Tom Morello....
In my hour of need
On a sea of gray
On my knees I pray to you
Help me find the dawn
Of the dying day

Won't you light my way

A bullet is a man
From time to time he strays
I compare my life to this
To this I relate
And I'm willing
To listen to your answers
And I'm not afraid
To tell you I need you today

Won't you light my way

So when I'm lost
Or I'm tired and depraved
Or when my high bullet mind
Goes astray won't you light my way

Don't save it for another day, hey

Won't you light my way

General CommentYou misspelled "pray" which is so significant. If you don't know that this song is a prayer, you will never figure out its meaning. He is on his knees, praying for the light, which is Jesus, to show him the path. This may be inspired by "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." He can't stay on the path, he goes astray, and gets lost unless he has Jesus to light his way.

General Comment"lmao at all the people thinking it's a prayer.

    "won't you light my way"

to me he is talking to his girlfriend, asking her to guide him in a dark time.

again, everyone sees it in a different light, and you need to see that.'

Yes, because we really pray to our girlfriends. You're really reaching to make this song something it's clearly not. This song is abviously about a man in his plea for God's guidance.

"from time to time he strays" -About sin and straying from God

"and I'm willing to listen to your answers
and I'm not ashamed to tell you I need you today" -Can't be any clearer than that. The answers are God's answers through the holy spirit.

Stop trying to fabricate the truth, -that this song is about God. Just like "Like a Stone", "Show Me How to Live", and arguably "I Am The Highway"

    General CommentI think its:
Help me find the dawn of a dying day
    instead of:
Help me find the bones of the dying dead..

General CommentHehe is it just me or do the google ads seem to agree with insect? I think they are both right though. I don't know what kind of spiritual beliefs CC has, but this song and so many others seem to be about Christianity. Its a prayer...and a rather straightorward song...which makes me worry that I'm not reading enough into it. lol

General Comment"this song pays respect to the sun" -_- that is by far the most ignorant and blatantly stupid response I've ever seen. Even if someone doesnt know Chris Cornell's history, they would still know this song is a prayer to Jesus Christ.

General CommentHaven't you felt this way at least once a day where you just say "won't You just do it?" or "won't you just tell me what I should do". It's kinda nice to know there's other people who feel the same way, and somebody took the time to write in on paper and throw some music to it.
Anyways, on the ironc side, I seem to hear a little bit of Faith No More in the chorus. I'm sure this wasn't on purpose, but I found that to be a little humorus!

-or when my high bullet mind goes astray won't You light my way?

General Comment"and i'm not ashamed to tell you i need you today" sounds more like and "i'm not AFRAID to tell you i need you today."
